1992 was great. No disc brakes,suspension or internet.Grade 9 me was just dying for a GT mountaibike.Never happened unfortunately .Thanks for the entertainment .

Decades later and this video still holds up!

It was this video I watched in '92 in a little bike shop called Jano's in Chesterton, Indiana that inspired me to buy my first mountain bike, a GT Tequesta. We had no rear suspension, front suspension forks were early development, and sloping top tubes? Pffft. Thank you, Hans, for a lifetime of enjoyment. After sending my second kid off to college (Boiler Up!), I'm rekindling my love affair with mountain biking. And I couldn't be happier.

In the 90's, someone gave this VHS tape to me when I was in middle school. I am positive I could still find it, original case and all, in my basement today!

so much respect to all the OG legend on trial bike and mtb....hans rey the legend...mtb before is truly hard because full suspension bike is not yet created..in the past all you need is balls and skills.......he is a truly inspring man...

I have just picked up a rare GT Hans Rey trials frame that I’m starting to build up into a retro 90’s/00’s trials bike. Take me back to my youth!

92‘, my second year on a mountainbike as a 15 old. These were pioneer times, we were part of a revolution.

I still got the yellow/blue Tricot and Helmet.

I used to watch this video non stop when I was younger. I owned one of his mod GT trials bikes. Wish I never got rid of it. I lived close to him in foothill ranch next to a mountain bike trail called whiting ranch witch was his playground.

I still have this (and Level Vibes) on VHS. No player to watch it with though! I was totally influenced by this, I even had a '93 Zaskar I used for street trials.

I got to hang out with him back in the 90s , in Huntington beach. He lived near my grandma, all I can remember is all the stickers. Coolest dude in the world

The stuff they did with cantilever brakes and rigid forks....great times, great people....and now everybody starts out with monsters of 150mm of travel to ride simple trails....

I remember watching bits of this on sports channels.. and it blew my mind. It's not bad to watch today, although people have definitely built on this. It's aged a lot better than Tread!

I saw this video in 1996-1998, the VHS tape was about 200-250HKD, i don't have enough money to buy as i was a student, just saw it in my friend's home.

If Hans or GT can afford to get it done, they should have these old classics restored and remastered to 4K to add a whole new dimension for the RU-vid audience and for us hardcore MTB/Bike Trials fans to appreciate this even more than the ride experience..

Those triple triangle GT frames with that old-school geometry were always so beautiful to me. I still have my '96 GT Talera. No suspension at all, but it always handled (and still handles) everything I care to throw at it. What times those were!
