I have loved this movie since I was 11 and always will, the music is so hauntingly beautiful, spiritual and magical and just really calms your soul - I listen to this most nights before I go to sleep.
It's nice to see that some people still like The Lion King OST .. some people just forget their childhood too quickly , they forget all this stuff ... this music means so much for me even if there are no lyrics ...
I got the score just before the new Lion King DVD was about to be released. Someone from the company had leaked the score and I was lucky enough to have gotten my hands on it. So these files I uploaded are still the original ones from the beginning a few years ago.
Did anyone know that the remixed part of this song (04:32 - 05:08) played during the hyena boss fight in the first level, and the soundtrack of the level with caves from the "The Lion King" game? (Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and SNES versions)
Has anybody noticed that the part at 4:33-4:40 was used in the PBS Kids show Zoboomafoo (minus the chanting)? Every time Zoboo eats his snack at the start of the show, that little drumbeat and "hmmmmm" is always heard. I never noticed that until now.
In regards to being a little slow, I could only get anything when I tuned up around +42 cents sharp, but I'd imaging that the limit of perception is probably plus or minus ten or so in either direction. +42 just sounded good to me. Maybe this was a problem with a slowdown in the ripping process. I'd be curious to see what the originals sound like. I can't imaging concert tuning being anything but A=440 in most settings.
Thanks for uploading this music! It really is the best score ever. Just out of curiosity, to the best of my knowledge, I don't think the score has ever been released... so I was just wondering how you got it? I would love to own this.
+Auchtahelweit no... This is the TOTAL score. I mean the background music was not placed in the first album (with the elton johns music)... This is the original pitch of it.
