I don't typically get into remixes. Usually they stray too far from what makes the original good for my taste, but this one.. wow it is excellent. It really takes the films score and does something fun with it while staying true to it at the same time.
This is the same guy who did that often played remix of A Little Less Conversation by Elvis Presley, he also did the soundtrack for various big name movies including Mad Max: Fury Road. safe to say the guy is pretty flexible with his music
Junkie XL actually worked with Hans Zimmer on the Inception score and is very good friends with him, there is an interesting interview about this with both of them you should check out.
I don't typically read the same comment over and over again to realize I've already read it over and over again because I'm again back here captivated by such magic music. Fucking Love this. And KJ West comment :D
At first I wasn't that fond of this song. I was like, "Hey this isn't Hans Zimmer." But then after listening to it a couple of times I actually realized I LOVED it. This is probably the best radio-edit-style remix there is and ever will be of Inception, because it captures the feel of the film/score, maintains a pumping energy, and utterly engulfs you within the cosmic worlds of your own imagination. I could honestly listen to this all day.
Perfect Dark (N64) music is also exactly what I thought of too. Like that smell that brings back Grandma's house. I even called an good old friend we used to smoke fools at that game insisted on hearing it for that reason (for starters). The funny thing is I went back and reviewed that score, and even though it brings back that taste, this is so much more truly into the stella'sphere (which the alien plot in the game reached us towards). Perfect Dark (on N64 controllers) was the ultimate perfect FPS game; all time material as those of us who all know. Zimmer XL is the perfect tune.
I was really upset at first to hear that he wasn't going to do the batman music, but now I'm honestly kinda excited to see at who he got to do it instead
I like this news a bit because Junkie's music is very brutal bitter and dark and rough like Batman is. I do hope they draw inspiration from Christopher Drake. His Batman theme in The Dark Knight Returns and Batman Arkham Origins is outstanding.
N7Normandy117: DAWN OF JUSTICE LEAGUE Exactly what I thought, because Christopher Drake pulled digital elements into that score. Having hans zimmer and junkie on it, certifies a digital synth and orchestral hybrid. :D Much like the DKReturns score. Hans zimmer will keep him right. :)
This song is so EPIC. Such a fan of the whole soundtrack and being able to hear it all together in one song with a nice little touch added, it's awesome! Thanks a lot Zanif47
although I haven't seen the film yet, I've always loved Hanz Zimmer's soundtracks and I know Junkie XL cuz of some Depeche Mode remixes - the two together is an orgasmic experience for me! goose bumps everywhere! can't stop listening to this mix!
I'm not usually a fan of remixes. I just don't like the style. But... damn, did Junkie XL nail this one! I'd expect nothing less from someone who came to be one of my favourite film composers of all time, up there with Hans Zimmer.
6:26 is the soul of INCEPTION!! You fucking kept it and put it on a better level!! Daaaaaaaaaaamn!!!!!!!! This is too good to have any comment anymore. Just listen and repeat...
