Though I only got to stay around for 3/4 of the day or so, this day was a lot of fun (though it certainly helped that the teams were grossly unbalanced to begin with). Also featuring a GoPro Hero 7 Black, which I upgraded to after loosing my cheapo Apeman in Maryland (and I should be getting it back eventually, but in the meantime I won't be going back).
Getting to come out with reliable full-auto on Protean and get back to running it a bunch was plenty of fun, in addition to a new experimental nylon roller BCAR in Protean. At 150-160~ FPS, it was only bleeding 5 FPS and though I'd need to formally test it, it was shooting pretty well even with community darts. I can forward an Amazon link to anyone who is curious, but am a little bit reserved on releasing this iteration since I don't think I've found any reliable sources for these rollers.

I'd love to have a link to the rollers please. I'd like to try them in mine. Are they a replacement for the metal bearings, or will I need a new BCAR?

Thanks for offering amazon links. I'd be interested in a link to the flasher. Yours seems a little faster than a car.

Deleted last reply, I realized you didn't actually ask for the nylon rollers or the NBCAR. I actually didn't use a special flasher in particular, it was an automotive flasher and all I did was swap the 100 uF included capacitor for a 22 uF one. This allows for me to turn up the ROF quite significantly, but I have found issues where if it gets turned too high the first shot response becomes very sloppy/prone to short stroking, and successive shots fly out well in excess of 15 DPS.

@@FlygonialThanks I had a similar issue with using an NE555. the delay after the first pulse is double, then the rest come out at normal speed.

@@ceruleanidiot Interesting, I've found a 555 to be pretty consistent (or at least, up to a higher 15 DPS ROF). That being said, the one I installed started showing issues with not retracting properly (seeming to hold extended on certain shot cycles), despite being powered off a 5V buck, and having a gate resistor AND diode. Hmm. It is unfortunate, as a good, always snappy, and reliable auto option short of an MCU should be available. I do still find it's possible to short-stroke with the flasher if you don't hold the trigger down for long enough, but it's minor enough that one can get used to it.
