A detailed look at the HanWag Sirius ii GTX Mountaineering / Hunting Boots. ** Some web pages have the leather thickness as 3-3.2mm and others state 2.4-2.6mm Instagram / shuswapoutdoors HanWag Sirius ii - www.hanwag.com...
Unfortunately, after a few weeks of having them, I found a 6" long slice in the leather from the manufacturer process. I returned them, but there weren't any replacements in all of north America. So I went with the Scarpa Manta Techs.
@@shuswapoutdoors That's bad news. You had excellent service from your last pair of Scarpas. I can't wear Scarpas, they are too narrow for me. Best regards.
Thank you for the review. Would you use the Alaska gtx more for hunts in wooded areas? I live in the Canadian Rockies and I’m wondering if I should get the Alaska or Sirius II. I have other boots slightly similar to the Alaska and thinking I might just go for the Sirius. Planning an Elk hunt. Also I have sole insoles and recently tried Oboz insoles which I prefer.
I really wanted to use the sirius ii's but I ended up finding a 6" long slice in the leather along the side of the boot. It was about 50% the way through the leather. I contacted HanWag and it turns out this is the only pair of size 10US in Canada and they have no idea when more are coming. So I'm on the hunt for new boots again.
