Day 3 at MADEX 2023, the international maritime defense exhibition. In this video we focus on the Hanwha Systems booth. The South Korean defense electronics company was focusing on manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T). Junho (Bruno) Joung, Manager, Overseas Business Team at Hanwha Systems, explains the company's approach to MUM-T. Mr Joung also introduces the latest innovations in the field of Combat Management Systems (CMS) such as the new AI Combat System.
=====================
00:30 - MUM-T
03:51 - Combat Management System (CMS) of FFX Batch III
05:33 - AI Combat System
At Madex 2023 exhibition, Hanwha Systems presented a total solution for unmanned system operation along with various maritime unmanned systems such as Multi-Mission Unmanned Surface Vehicle, 'Sea GHOST', USV for search & reconnaissance, DAUV (Docking Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), ASWUUV (Anti-Submarine Warfare Unmanned Underwater Vehicle), next generation ROV (Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle)...
Hanwha Systems has showed differentiated and outstanding MUM-T (Manned-UnManned Teaming) capabilities using low earth orbit satellites.
LEO comsat technologies:
• Satellite Tactical Internet Service
• Hanwha Systems is actively pursuing the military communication system project, which will utilize OneWeb's low earth orbit satellite networks.
AI combat system
Artificial intelligence (AI) applied multifunction console developed for ROK Navy and export market. This console is capable of performing target detection/tracking, threat assessment, weapon allocation, and hit assessment. The purpose of the development is to secure the basic and core technologies necessary for the development of intelligent combat system, which is the goal of future naval combat system
AI combat system Key Features:
• AI-based target identification and threat assessment can effectively reduce the decision time of commanders in response to multiple threats.
• Intelligent and automated operation of air defense systems allows for a rapid response, enhancing the survivability of the ship.

Several people have expressed concern about AI weapons. We immediately think of Skynet. Clearly, AI is a dangerous invention. But AI development is a classic prisoner's dilemma. If we don't do it, someone else will, and they will have the advantage. Like it or not, AI in warfare is already becoming an unstoppable force. The consequences could be disastrous or a blessing.

I think all intelligent life in the universe will have to go through the same test. Find a way to stop being warlike or eventually their war creations will end them. Perhaps that is why the universe is so dark. Search "Dark forest hypothesis" if interested.

but this is not at all what this product is about. this is just sensor fusion, like they do on planes for quite sometime. we already have the tech for autonomous killing drones for about 20 years. any switchblade could attack on his own. the "man on the loop" is an ethical ask from the governments (so far), not a tech barrier. it actually makes developing the tech a bit more difficult.

people seem to be a little affraid of the AI on the navy systems. This is just "sensor fusion" (f-35, saab gripen and many others) for boats. we've been doing it for planes for a while, but boat didn't had them yet. it is a great idea, hope it gets implemented

Good technology BUT representatives have to learn better English AND learn how to promote and talk more interesting and exciting. It's the case with practically all Korean representatives.

you're not their target (neither are we). they're doing just fine, otherwise everyone would change it already, money clearly isn't the problem. they could just hire a foreigner, there's a reason they keep it in house.

I had an idea for a modular screen system to be applied throughout the entire ship screens would come in small medium and large and each corresponding compartment would fit that screen the screen would be a hybrid terminal that would “get“ the package that it would operate on that terminal from the mainframe computer. Allowing for a faster change out in the event of damage. The screen is the computer all screens are computers, those computers function are to communicate with the mainframe. In videos of navy ships there must be 15 different sized and shaped screens on board the bridge in the event of damage to look for part 6.0 25B 11 screen circular would be very difficult if all screens were small medium or large replacement would be easier

Devices like this that are incredibly efficient at connecting and reconnecting to designated targets could also be incredibly effective at disrupting the day-to-day lives of civilian populations. Brains being a Complex electrochemical simulation could be affected by systems like this. I would assume a future prediction algorithm would enjoy the ability to create decisions in the human mind, thereby increasing the chances that the future the supercomputer has predicted would become reality. If satellites with this connective capability were saying taken over by hostile forces they could also be used against us to project sound into peoples mind in the form of music and speech.

No matter how good ideas (imagination, creativity), designs, systems, programs, etc. you have, you cannot create a "trusted" "product" unless you go through the process of solidly shaping it. . The assembly industry was created after the war with technical support from various countries. What are the “products” that are trusted overseas? I think you should start studying from here. In any case, please limit the amount of “products” that cause inconvenience to the amount that you will use in your own country. Even in my own country, I haven't been able to operate it properly (especially KSS-II, various FF, DD, Dokdo: aka event ship).

Jap boy again🤣🤣🤣 "assembly industry?" "What are the “products” that are trusted overseas?" Korea's arms export was the world's 4th with over 17 billion dollar last year. What about Jap? Zero!! 😭😭😭 Go study with the basics about the military world.

This idea is too funny. Even the US can't make a weapon system with 100% indigenous technology. What's wrong with utilizing the superior resources of the free western world? Do you have to make the irrational choice of 100% localization to promote your great nationalism? Also, South Korea already produces most of its own products. Some parts are supported by the western world with advanced technology, like the US and Israel. Do you really think that the great Japan doesn't receive technical support? During the modernization period, Japan received huge technical support from the UK. After WWII, it experienced the same from the US. Your isolationist delusions are complete bullshit. You are exaggerating and inflating the facts. The most important thing in weapons development is systems integration. And I appreciate what you said about trusted commodities. South Korea's arms exports have increased by 180% in the last five years, reaching an all-time high. We are number one in the world in terms of arms sales growth. In South Korea, the defense industry is now becoming a core industry. The export of K2 tanks to Poland is a prime example. The K9 self-propelled gun is already the standard self-propelled gun for NATO forces. Several navies in Southeast Asia are already armed with South Korean ships. The exports of FA-50 fighter jets are too numerous to mention. On the other hand, what about "trusted" Japan? It's been years since they revised their arms export laws, has anything changed? Speaking of trust, a weapon that is in service in multiple countries is a trusted weapon. The Leopard 2 tank is in service in many countries. It's a trusted weapon. The AK-47 can be found anywhere in the world. It's a trusted weapon. The K-9 is used in many countries, including NATO. It is a trusted weapon. Exports prove the weapon's capabilities. Why should we keep these trusted weapons at home? There is so much demand overseas.

@@n1k2-ja46Perhaps the most impressive recent Japanese product is the nuclear power plant, whose outdated design is causing massive damage around the world.
