I said it before, but I think RU-vidr products are contrived and some of them are overpriced. From what I read a lot of them are made from very similar ingredients and are essentially just clones of each other with different labels on them. Some of the marketing for them is cringeworthy too.

To be honest they aren't that bad. Some of the products im not a fan of but I really like claymation. They aren't always right with the hold levels. Ill try out the heavymade and see how good the hold is for me.

Totally. That what happens when you get a head start on a product and then you dont do any changes to it. There more better product now in the market than before

Robin James I feel like they are a complete overhype just like their modify pomade which is compiler garbage along with their hybridized wax, Gravity paste, sponge wax and quicksand. Claymation is their only product that is decently good. I still think Cavalier Clay by Blumaan still outperforms Claymation. Not only Cavalier Clay outperforms claymation but I also think Anchors courage clay and Clutch by the salon guy also outperform claymation.

HdF's Claymation is still miles ahead of many hipster clays out there that keep getting released recently. But I can't justify the price for 2 oz and that's why I've stopped using HdF for years now.

I have thick south Asian hair and HDF Claymotion is my go to. It's £18 a pot on Amazon but definitely worth it. I like that it doesn't have a strong smell and can rework your hair throughout the day. Really strong hold too, even for thick hair like mine. I used to rock Reuzel pomades but their fragrance is very overwhelming and gets annoying at times.

Claymation used to be the Hanz de Fuko product with the highest hold (Super High Hold), but for Heavymade it says Extreme Hold. Do you feel Heavymade has a higher hold than Claymation?

I've never tried pomade... I have medium thick hair like you. I like to use clay with texture powder to get texture and thickness. You think this heavy made could be combined with a little clay or texture powder? 🤔

Hey Robin, I have really thick hair but it's very straight and gets dry easy so the thickness doesn't help with hold and styling. I'm currently growing my hair out and I want to use just a little bit of product so it still looks natural (no artificial looking shine) but still gives my hair some waves whether I want to do a 90's Leonardo DiCaprio esque hairstyle or just pushed back. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have bought Label M's Matte Paste on your recommendation, I'd be really interested in a review of Lanza's Urban Molding Paste. No one else has done a review on it, very highly rated on Amazon. Have used it on my similarly fine hair for years and would love to see your thoughts.

Great video, although I would never pay such a high price for what is basically a waxy pomade, these type of hair products have already been perfected since the 60’s, there’s no need to reinvent the wheel, also there are hundreds of cheaper options out there.

Thanks for the review Robin and I hope your hand is fine now. I'm in problem because I got wavy hairs and the issue is previously I was using black label shape paste and when the product was over i just recently shifted to heavy made and the results are that I can't get my hairs into shape because after using the blow dryer i used this product and because of its gel like consistency it again shaped my hair to look wavy and the time it takes to dry my hairs become again wavy which i don't want and while using the paste it was not that bad it worked pretty well but I want to try new products. Actually I thought it will work like pomade but it was little different to what i thought. I'm living in St Lucia where ASOS take around 1 month to deliver product so I can't switch to any other and also there is no such salon or place from where i could buy so I'm left with heavymade so please help me or guide me how to style my hairs. I hope you got it what I mean to say. please find a solution for me :)

I wanted to like this product, but it didn't work for me. I have thick frizzy hair and instead of an "extreme hold" it gave me a light hold, and instead of a "high shine" it gave me a light-medium shine. I'm really trying hard to find a product that has both "extreme" hold and "high" shine for my hair and have yet to find it. Can anyone please give me some good recommendations??

hi robin,i like your vids and you are definitly one of the best youtubers of your sort. but i need advice i have slight to big thick curls (and lots of that!). my hair goes to my nose. afterstyling the ends keep curling up again (currently using garnier fructic maturizing gum). i considered getting a trim so it reaches to the half of my nose where it starts curling . any other tips? do i use a wrong product? do i need different prestylers ( im using mousse and sometimes the maturizing gum)?

Mousse will work the curls up. You could get it chemically straightened? Taking some length off it should help slightly.

Hi robin thanks for the reply, i have not tried them yet, but i have got some on order to try them. I have seen alot of positive feed back of them on youtube and on google that they stop the build up of DHT in the hair and other parts of the body . they are also used for people with enlarged prostrate as that produces high levels of DHT
