Hanz here! After some hassle with this infernal machine here, i managed to set up this "page" or whatever you may call it. I had a super fun time telling about my past as a resident of Krieg, as a member of the Deathkorps and of course my service for the glory that is the emperor. I have no idea if we will see each other in the nearest future, if this is my only voicing towards potential conscripts or there will be anything at all from now on. I really hope you enjoyed what you heard, im not really the vocal one when im standing knee deep in mud. But before you have to listen to this old trenchdog meandering much further, i wish you a day filled with glory and fulfillment in the image of our great emperor. Hanz von Krieg Infantryman 326nd Regiment of Krieg System of Vraks Scarus Sector Segmentum Obscurus
It was a pleasure doing collaboration with you Hanz! I'll be seeing you on Vraks when I get back there. If you liked the video don't forget to give Hanz a subscribe
There is a notion on Krieg that the Krieger doesn't get a name at birth, they "earn" them from combat. Hanz having a name must mean he is the formidable and worthy veteran.
I mean he survived to phase three of Vraks and had some deployments even before that. If he's not at least lieutenant by this time I would be surprised. Probably major or colonel even. Hope he wouldn't show enough tactical talent other Krieg generals would promote him to general - as that would men he no longer get to be in the front lines he loves so much. There are no front line generals in death corps - only colonels and below are allowed on the field.
The average life expectancy of a guardsmen at the frontline is about nine minutes. This is not true. The average expectancy on the front line is seven minutes. Hanz from the Krieg battalion is with more than eleven years of Service an outliner and should not be counted for.
The fact that Krieg is literaly named "War" in german is all you need to know about the planet and its inhabitans. Also makes me wonder who named the planet "Krieg" *prior* to the nuklear apocalypse.
After thinking about it the Kreigers are like a mix of solider and pyro: Outfit looks like a mix of the two. Delusional to the point of not really having a sensible grip on reality (pyro). The unwavering extremism and delusion to their cause (soldier). Way to into the idea of beating the enemy to death with melee, much like pyro with his lolichop while using a shovel like soldier (although in the comics soldiers preferred fighting style is; fighting with his bare fists whilst nude and covered in honey). And there is probably a lot more.
I wish lore would cover Kriegers talking more, how they interact with each other and other regiments. Happy Krieger laughing as he tells a story is beyond wholesome. Hanz must be canon
One thing I can remember is how during the first deployments of the Death Korp, the Imperium put the kriegers under the command of kommisars from Cadia. This led to a bit of a breakdown in authority since Kriegers are far too used to throwing themselves at the enemy in self sacrifice, which is not how the cadians commanded their forces. In essence, the moment an NCO or CO *doesn't* immediately see sending wave after wave of infantry at the enemy as the first plan of attack loses all respect from any Death Korp trooper. You can imagine how that sort of conversation might've gone down.
@@uncledoctor6920 Commissar: "Look, boys. I know you're really eager to die for the Emperor, as am I, but maybe...just maybe...if you stay in this trench for a little longer, and let the enemy come closer, maybe we'll be able to kill a few more before charging?" Kriegsman: "Wow Paul, I never knew you were such a coward." Commissar: "That's enough lip out of you 7483311" Kriegsman: "I'll charge whenever I want Paul! You're not my real Commissar!"
Krieg comissar: OFCOURSE I SAID VACATION HANZ NOW SHUT UP AND GET ENGEL THE DAMN BARBECUE COOKING BECAUSE ME AND RUDI WILL BE CHARING INTO THEIR FRONT LINES BECAUSE WE WILL HAVE A LONG WONDERFUL VACATION HERE
2:25 Mild correction, Hanz; The Munitorum originally only asked for Krieg to send a SINGLE regiment, as they thought you were all still trying to get back on your feet. When Krieg revealed that they had SEVERAL regiments raised, trained, and equipped, AND that they were all requesting to be sent to the most dangerous deployments available? I'm pretty sure the Lord Tempestus needed a change of shorts after that news!
I wasnt there so if i get one or two things vaguely, it is because we still are an absolute massive amount of soldiers. The important thing is we can serve our emperor, is it not?
@@paladinboyd1228 the entire point of kreig is that they believe the emporer is angry at the fact they betrayed him but if they hear that emporer decided to say "I forgive all of kreig" then all of krieg would pretty much fall apart in essence sense if he forgive them then why should they die or something like that
@@theenderdestruction2362 Actually they might fight harder if the emperor did say it Think about it, your god forgives you for your planet's sin That means he deems you and your entire planet worthy of forgiveness and redemption You don't give up after that i don't think Krieg certainly won't

This is a Krieger with a name. Let me repeat that THIS IS A KRIEGER WITH A NAME Kriegers get their names from others around them or from accomplishments and stuff, so Hanz having a name means he’s an absolute badass.
In the lore, some Adeptus Custodes of the Aquilan Shield go out to protect random people that are destined to do something of great importance in the defense of the Imperium. Imagine Hanz running around with a golden-clad demigod at his side.
I don't know war hammer lore so hearing how it just get progressively more questionable like being born in artificial womb for the sole purpose of being a solider for the emperor was crazy to me but his joyful little tone about it makes me happy for him, clearly he's living his best life.
This is actually a cool reinterpretation of a Krieger’s attitude. They don’t charge because of grim determination and a morose need to be freed, they charge because they’re *genuinely happy* to have this opportunity. Of course they would be happy. How else would you control an entire populace of soldiers? Just make war the place where they feel happiest, and they’ll never leave.
when i heard him talking about dancing to the artillary i remembered that video 2 years ago about hanz dancing in front of the trenches and the artillary strikes
I have stick around after i saw the "boom boom" dance, i shared it instantly with my BF and we wound up watching Boom Boom live after ward, now that i know the lore the depth of the dance skyrocketed
@Hans Layola I am hairy Finnish 30y and my friend is even hairier 40y with 17y son xD I dont even know "gurls" xD BTW my profile picture was drawn by random Finn woman that i snacthed to my profile
@Hans Layola A true Hans... i am Finn and studied 3 y German but they force us to learn sweden at same and with english 3 germanic lanquages is too much...but...HALLO HANS! :)
I quite like the presentation of lore here. I have never seen a WH40K lore video describe it completely from an in-universe perspective, and it is pulled off very well here. It helps you learn about Krieg and its history and tactics without issue, and also tells you about the mindset of a Kriegsman when on a horrible planet without outright saying it from an outside perspective. TL;DR: Good lore video Edit: Fixing a typo
This looks like a video a Krieger would get in school for history, just before getting their standard issue uniform, 4 charge packs, lasgun, grenade and a one way ticket to the training grounds.
"I can't really remember the last time I took my gas mask off, because they always send us to these amazing planets that are filled with toxic fumes, but if that's not the case, then we deploy lots of toxic gas!" One of the best Krieg quotes ever, one of my favorites is "Where is the rest of your squad?" "Dead, sir" "Very well" Now I'm waiting for Chuck Norris style sentences that describe him, but it's kriegers instead.
I loved this so much. May Hanz never be without a battlefield to walk, and heretics to crush under his boot for the emperor. May his joy for battle and bloodshed live on forever. 🙏
I’m so glad I found this video, now i’m stuck obsessing over Warhammer40K lore, when I know enough about the lore I might even cosplay a Death Korps soldier, I swear I will go all out in making the props.
The idea of an entire army that both enjoys war and suffering to the point where the idea of anything decent isn’t even comprehensible is kinda wholesome, how there’s a group that truly enjoys their lives in a universe of unending bleak agony.
Honestly, idk how I end up on Warhammer 40 side of yt but after spending about 2 hours, I am now learning about the lores and what it actually is. Lastly, I love Hanz, I hope he continue fighting for the Emperor forever!
Food for thought. An idea even. A Krieg soldier sitting in the trench. Dark and rainy. The sound of all out war surrounded him. But to this Warrior of Krieg. It's music. Beautiful, glorious music. He sets his head in rhythm with the shelling and bursts of Las rifle fire. Slowly he stands. And takes up the roll of an orchestra conductor. It is his master piece. "The killing of Vraks." Just an idea for you to think about.
I imagine this is what every Krieg Soldier's internal monologue is like, when you live such profoundly brutal lives you'd start to see the good in everything at the very least as a coping mechanism.
I like to imagine this is what krieg parents show their children to convince/motivate them to join the Death Korps, and it probably works considering how Kriegs are always super enthusiastic to rush to the battlefield.
If they heard that the emperor forgave them, they would most likely become FAR MORE fanatical than ever before. Not just because it came from the emperor, but because despite their heresy and the war afterward, the emperor himself forgave them.
Due to a clerical mix-up, Hanz was transferred to a remote and completely secure paradise world with a depleted cadian regiment. Private Jupe has been accepted by the Krieg regiment and was even gifted his own official krieg gas mask.
