Hey everyone! This is my $80 Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons EDH.
This build is a low cost, high power MTG edh commander deck. The goal of this deck is to play multicolored spells, flood the board with snakes, then swing out for the win!

Thanks! Funny you say that because I’ve switched from primarily golgari to the scarab god so I guess I’m the opposite. My favorite golgari are definitely hapatra and Chatterfang, and I have videos for both ;)

Only thing I would change is Fynn. I just have such a bad taste for poison counters lol. All in all a very solid deck though. I am looking at different builds for her because I am working on a list for her now.

I tried a -1/-1 proliferate deck with Venser, and it’s not very good. Think I’ll try changing it for Hepatra.

This was super helpful. I’m building a Hapatra deck, so it was super helpful to get some extra ideas. I’m building it a little weird and maybe inefficient but this still helped a lot!

Obelisk spider synergizes woth hapatra and also goes infinite with the combo pices cuthroat and blood artist. It also wont set of red flags like the first two do.

I strongly recommend her. She’s definitely a commander your friends will start to hate but it’s always so fun sitting there and not getting attacked bc you have a 1:1 deathtoucher

Obelisk Spider drains for -1/-1 counters so has a bit more synergy in the deck. This is a good budget video, though! Hapatra's my favorite commander so don't want to fill the comments with too many card suggestions

Cool to see this commander get some attention! I've been playing Hapatra for a long time and this video still gave me some good includes to think about. One note about regeneration, though--you mention at 9:35 that the boardwide regeneration from Golgari Charm can save your snakes from effects like Soul Snuffers that put -1/-1 counters on everything, but the 1/1 snakes have 0 toughness. They aren't being destroyed and can't regenerate.

Great video, some good card ideas in there. Just one correction: Golgari Charm and regenerate effects dont work like you stated when combined with something like soul snuffers (and -1/-1 effects in general). Bringing a creature to 0/0 will remove it as a state based effect and not "destroy" it. That means regenerate will not replace that and they are still gone if they take -1/-1 counters that bring them to 0/0. See this rules passage for reference: "704.5f If a creature has toughness 0 or less, it’s put into its owner’s graveyard. Regeneration can’t replace this event. "
