Sometimes I think Angela Mao must be the greatest action star of all time. No amount of wirework or CGI will create anything like Angela when she lets rip!
the Movie of Golden Harvest i saw her movie Lady Whirlwind , at time when i saw it in the early 1970's i knew it as Deep Thrust , i really liked the Movie , the funny thing , that movie was out about the same , with now get this , that X rated movie starring Linda Lovelace , i will leave that title off , it did cause a lot confession , I mention to someone , that i was to go see that movie Deep Thrust , and the Person , you are going to see that X rated Movie , i said no a Kung Fu movie called Deep Thrust , they pointed out there was a X rated movie with nearly the same name , well i was under age, so that would not been good , besides i would and wanted to see the Kung Fu movie instead LOL , she was a fighting expert for sure, and had a very good on screen Presence for sure .
@@isabelleawh807 Angela Mao , she was your Aunt ? she is a good Actress , i would guess a very good fighter as well and had a very good screen presence , i like her in the movie lady whirlwind and When Tae Kwon Do Strikes , she was amazing to watch .
The sound effects are more dangerous than their martial art. I saw this at the cinema on it's release in England..... I don't remember it being so bad!
What's great about her character here is that she literally takes no prisoners. She basically tells them she is going to kill them before she starts fighting them, and then she kills them and doesn't really give it a second thought. And the guy that thinks the sound effects are bad, try watching mid to late 70s Chinese films; it's like someone pressing a key on a keyboard of punch sounds but there's only one key. This was the great period of sound where the sounds are more individual and it's Golden Harvest, so the sound is better and the fights more real.
Bruce Lee imitated this woman. She's the Pioneer. I'd much rather watch her. Got a bucket of popcorn right here and 25 buddies. Forget Bruce.. We're watching Angela
@BushidoCode72 these martial arts movies are not silly or idiotic. If anything they demonstrate century old combatant syles that take years for a student to be able to master. Also these kind of arts are good for character discipline as well, as strengthing your mind and body.
The senseis in the Black Bear Organisation certainly don't care about each other, as the chief sensei seems to stand around while Angela kills one of his students.
Very interesting, that ankle-lock headscissor she used to take that guy out. Never thought that the ankle could take someone out, but I guess when you have an angry, yet highly skilled female warrior, any part of the body can be used to bring about somebody's untimely demise!

Actually she is shown to be a bit vulnerable as some of the Japanese sensei's strikes connect hard and she goes get rather bruised. However, those pigtails are mean and, of course, when you hear that last kiai and her body tenses up, you know it's time to die.
well, if i'm THAT small.....my first rule would be....i'd want to avoid being hit by a guy. She got hit many times. not good. she's not fast enough. At 2:00 why was the guy waiting to be slammed...? he had enough time to take action.... this is BS.
