Rabbi, the man deceased doesn't need a bleeding heart eulogy. And if not for the monies of the deceased the rabbi leading the eulogy would not get paid, not to mention those who benefitted fom the monies of same deceased.
Remember folks speech is easy and if you don't know the speaker's deeds then best reserve your shallow over-praise because of only some nice words spoken without the slightest idea or knowledge of speaker's actions.
I have hateful abusive family members & was abused at almost every job I ever had. Decades of isolation and loneliness - tried for years to connect deeply but no one is willing to do it. Searching for community & family all my life - gave up ok trying.
State that marriage is a contract to make both of you happy. Tell her somethings you are doing to keep this obligation. Make her aware that she can do a better job of keeping her side of the agreement if she will say x and y after you said something. Stop making her happy if she does not make you happy. IGNORE my advice if it does not make sense to you!!!!
