I found a $5 Sony Walkman at a garage sale, I thought it would not work, but I bought it anyway. Luckily battery compartment wasn’t to corroded so I was able to clean it. Cleaned inside of Walkman and out two new AAs in. Love it

You cannot acidentally record over a store bought cassette. There are little holes on the top of commercially produced cassettes which prevent tape recorders from recording over the cassette. You would have to accidentally cover these holes with duct tape to record over your cassette. So you don't have to worry But i don't recommend buying any new produced cassette players. It sounds silly but they do not make them like they used to. A old 80s 90s sony walkman will sound waaay better.

You can remove the record tabs to prevent accidentally recording over a tape you want to keep

@@hyakin7818 yeah,, also might sounded a bit hard to that device if anyone has fun with it its fine just dont judge cassettes based on that lol

@@marianelvelazqueznavarro2718 thats pretty much the only choices you got :/ theres no good portable player made nowadays :( you can also consider just getting a tapedeck them a often cheaper but just not portable

Sony Walkmans are SO MUCH BETTER then these pieces of crap. I found one at a garage sale for $3, all I had to do was clean the battery compartment and clean the tape head. I still Might get a better one but the one I have is good

@@GT-Rev the Tomashi F116 is a decent walkman style machine. I have one. But if you want to digitise music, forget it. You are better off buying a 2nd hand full deck with line out

@@msrndpty - At my church, a member called Pat (elderly, preferred to listen to membership meetings on compact cassette) her recorder broke and her son bought a similar piece of tat on eBay with the “BUSH” branding slapped on it. She found something wrong with it (not surprised) and she gave it to me to fix! 😠, I looked at it and said to dad that it was crap, I did clean the recorder with my cassette maintenance kit and found nothing wrong with it (apart from the record function not having an overwrite protection) and got one of my vintage cassette/radio portable stereos and said to dad “give her this = much more better build and quality than that crap” we told her that and she took the vintage cassette/radio and used it instead of the tatty thing (don’t know what became of it, hopefully she threw it away as I had advised) however as my dad was having to dub compact disk > cassette, we gave her a cd/cassette/radio and taught her how to use a CD player, which was more convenient for my dad. I prefer vintage, as these were made to last and a better quality than the crap spat out of China, all they need is maintenance and they work

@@PanaSonyc Just buy an old one. Like it's not so hard. They cost a bit more but most are better anyway.I bought one from 1984 and it sounds great.

@@kyushanerd4954 I have an old refurbished one. But I have also many bad experiences with buying old ones. Usually they require belt changes, clutch changes etc. because the previous owner didn't take care
