The Queen's Gurkha Engineers have celebrated their 73rd birthday! 🧁🍰
A parade and display of kukri use entertained a crowd of serving and former members of QGE, which, these days, is part of the 36 Engineer Regiment.

My dad fought alongside the Gurkhas in WW2. He said they were the bravest fighters and most feared by the enemy. He had a lot of respect for them and so do I. It is shameful that the British Government don't treat them fairly by giving them decent pensions and the other rights that they deserve for serving this country.

@CoachTPM Well if that is the case he must have had dealings with them later than I thought. It is a long time ago !!!! What ever the case he always said what brave and fearless men they were and it doesn’t take away from the respect he had for them. 😀

@@coachtpm5478 The queens Gurkha engineers are celebrating their 73rd anniversary, but there have been other Gurkha regiments in the British army for a lot longer, In fact 100,000 Gurkha's fought in the first world war..

@@coachtpm5478 Gurkhas has been seving uk more than 200 years . But this gurkha engineer regiment was established later...

@@janmargaret7972 no, gurkha regiment was alive long before , not 1948 ... it was then part of east India .. otherwise how could dozen or so gurkhas could win Victoria Cross in WW2 ..
