Victoria did an amazing job. That frantic eating and heavy breathing made you see how desperate the character was. She indulged no matter the cost and it was disgusting. Great job.
I love when she sees her reflection and is so happy about it. And those sounds… oh boy! Great work. Great editing Aaron Fradkin! That roach running on the cake!
It took me a rewatch to see the bug crawling out of the cake, those little details make everything so much better. Really great stuff, I feel like since “The Ballerina” everything has been feeling even more cinematic, almost like season 2 of Social House. Road to 100K ;)
Disturbing… so in reality she’s actually made herself older. But in her in mind and appearance towards the mirror she’s younger because that’s what she wished for much more wanted to be.. sick in a good way❤️❤️ just wish you guys were a lot faster with making these🥲 SUCH A HUGE INSPIRATION FOR ME AND MY IDEAS FOR MY CHANNEL. Thank you for this. Victoria was amazing as always😆
Want to know something? This is the EXACT OPPOSITE when someone has anorexia. They are super skinny but they see themselves as very fat in the mirror. Either case is bad. Either physically or mentally messed up. In this case Victoria is mentally happier but physically worse. The other way around would be bad as well.
My birthday was 2 weeks ago, I am 68 years old. Thank God I did not see this before today! I don't think I'll be able to look in a mirror quite the same as before!
How ironic LOL! I'm 64 years old. Today is my birthday! I've been depressed about my aging looks and eating candy and cookies and this movie pops up! Lol! Perfection! ♥
Honestly thank you guys for being a constant reminder to just things done. We have started making our own horror shorts now and we are having so much fun making them. It's so easy in this line of work to overthink things and you guys just keep coming out with these simple powerful concepts. Awesome work as always.
This reminds me of people who have difficulties in accepting that they age and who develop an addiction because of that. The older we get, the more we become aware of the fact that we age (with every birthday). So people try to stop the march of time (of ageing) by all means (e.g. by plastic surgery, etc.). Some people get obsessed with the idea of looking young forever, as a consequence of which they become virtually addicted to plastic surgery and can't stop "eating the cake" (can't get enough of it). Whereas they are content with the results, others might feel disconcerted and startled by their outer appearance. At some point self-perception and external perception diverge considerably. The cake might stand for the opportunity to take measures against ageing (plastic surgery, botox, etc.). If you "eat" an appropriate amount of it, you'll be fine. But if you get addicted and can't stop "eating" it, you may develop an addictive disorder without realising it. Even if you look into the mirror, you only see what you want to see. And then you want more of it. You are no longer able to see what that kind of addiction is doing to you (in this case to your outer appearance, but also to your mind / psyche) - but other people can see it clearly.
You got that right but it doesn't apply to me. I know as time goes on I will age and my health and body will deteriorate. All I do is eat healthy and exercise, stay away from drugs and alcohol. I try to do things that are good for my body naturally but none of the fake stuff the Kardashians do. This is life: you are born and then you live your life and then you die. Don't try to pretend to be someone you are not. Don't get liposuction to try to look skinnier. Just eat a healthy diet and exercise and if weight still piles on gradually then so be it. Personally, I feel like the more plastic surgery and the more artificial crap you do to your body to look better will have long term negative side effects so I just don't do it.
Brilliant comment, rings so true with majority of people I know. You know, I actually celebrate my aging and like looking in the mirror at my natural face changing. I think that part of the confidence is who I am aging with. I have a great man who couldn't care less what I look like, I really think it makes a difference.
@@AceCorr I am the same, I am actually looking forward to my 40s.... Kids leave home so we get a little freedom, 50s.... use cash left over from children and blow on holidays, 60s.... retire to a field and watch chickens all day build some stuff for grandkids, 70s.... babysitting or if none, chilling all day long watching films, gardening forevermore. I honestly couldn't care less what I look like throughout this time and welcome the subtle daily changes I see daily.
@@BLane-xr1ic That's very good. It's good to accept aging and even weight gain as part of natural process of aging. Just like anything, as time goes by things will start to deteriorate and break down. Just take care of your body and what happens happens. Another thing, I like how you broke down what you plan to do in your 40s and 50s and 60s and 70s but here's another thing to keep in mind. Don't plan too much out in the future because you just might never make it there especially with this pandemic we have. Some people try to work extra hard and work many hours of overtime and want to retire with millions of $$$ and retire so comfortably. Guess what? Who can guarantee they will live past 65? I used to work in a cemetery and there were tons of people who died before 65. There were even tons of people who passed away before 40! So it's good to have a plan but remember to enjoy every day you have because you never know when it could be your last. It doesn't matter if you are 100% healthy because you could die in a car accident or an earthquake or get killed or get COVID, etc. Same with me and anyone here.
Victoria is a strength for this channel. She often play the role as Protagonist and sometimes as the villains.. I don't think that I could watch Social House Film's Video without her
This is literally me eating cake, especially red velvet. On a serious note, I absolutely loved this short horror movie. Reminded me of Dorian Gray. Keep the good work !
I really like these (nearly) silent horror movies. It shows the talent of the actress (Victoria) to show all the needed emotions without speaking to the audience in a REALLY short amount of time. Very impressive.
The intro....if you don't make a deal with Blumhouse in the future to turn one or a few of your short films into a full movie....please make it happen someday qwq I'd be in the theater day 1!
Nice work! "When you look in a mirror. You don't alway know the person you're looking at." Ever since my first film The Ice Cream Man. I have watched all your films. Wondering what idea you have next.
Yall...its such an acute joy to watch your work improve and improve and imporve. Way to take a confident moment to let us all relish your unique and ironclad grasp of your talent and craft. Cheers, many returns of the day.
Yeah! I feel like if she'd just eaten one bite, resisted the temptation to eat more, and just went to bed or something, she would have actually got her wish. The card did say to take A bite after all, not eat the whole thing. Don't be greedy with the wish cake.
Really LOLled at the "Another year, youre growing older. Your bones are weak, youre feeling older... Now make a wish and take a bite. Your greatest gift will come tonight." SO HUMOROUS!!!!! LOLLLLLLLLL
Typically after watching these short films I have so many different thoughts to describe how I feel to the point where it becomes a literal essay but this time to put it simply; I love this so much.
Without a doubt you have cleverly crafted a tale revealing the folly and misguided views mortals have on aging. A creation that will long live within my memory for time to come.
The 'Monkeys Paw' set the rules for this charm, so be very careful what you wish for, as there's always a twist with a gift. A very well made original take on this idea, well done.
You're right on point, mate. This is why you gotta be careful when you accept foods and drinks from strangers or else, You could be drugged, unconscious, or dead.
This is why they say be careful what you wish for... She wished that she can see herself beautiful, she didn't wish for anyone else to think she's beautiful
Victoria Fratz is my favorite short horror film character she’s the best and she has the best acting I love watching all and only the films with her in it ☺️☺️
I thought just as she was about to blow out a single candle on her birthday cake, I saw a cockroach climbing down from her birthday cake! What does it mean?
Nicely done, short and to the point. Creative and artistic, good idea. Good job on the makeup. Good amount of 'gross factor'... Well acted...I give her a lot of credit. Good audio & lighting. A little liquid latex for the wrinkles/crow's feet? Self contained film...made a nice point.
Again a great short movie dilivered. And again great acting. To say nothing and act by facial expressions and movement is really hard to do and she does it well. 👍
