The fact that your little friend is so happy that they’re singing brightens your day, but unless you’re a Disney princess, waking up the sounds of birds outside amplified by 100 doesn’t make you wake up that refreshed lol
I could cry right now. I miss my cockatiel so much. His name was Billy Dean Wallace and he passed in 1999. He crossed my mind a few minutes ago. I think I'm ready to adopt a new one.
You're welcome. Also if you already have experience with keeping cockatiels then it should be a lot easier to start. With my little Borb (bird crossed with orb, he be kinda chonky) he wouldn't stop screaming at night. I was all panicking and stuff wondering why they were so upset. Turns out they were just mad because the blanket wasn't on the cage all the way, just can't sleep without it. Also, if you have any other pets I would recommend introducing them to each other so they get a bond early on. I was kinda lucky they just kinda introduced themselves. My dog went up to the cage, waited a bit while staring at it, then sat down on the couch excited to have a new friend. My cats did VERY well with Borb. The big one kinda just looked at him for a while, knew that if it was in the house it was our friend, and went along his day. But the little one decided he didn't want do dismiss Borb as just another thing that lives in the house, but as his best friend. We got this little baby Himalayan cat a few months after Borb, the age that animals usually make new bonds easiest. This little white lump of fur always slept next to Borbs cage and Borb would kinda get right up next to him and sleep. We have yet to let Borb out of the cage yet because of some hazards such as: Cats, a LOT of windows, and SO MANY FREAKING CABLES. So I guess, plan ahead. Edit: Sorry about the rambling too. I tend to do that.
Male: Female: Alright. This place is an awful mess. Let's get started straightening up. Male: Female: Come and help me Harold Male: Female: FFS Harold! No sex for you tonight. Male:
Sweet sweet, Cheeks of sunshine, head tuft, sweet sweet, pointing up, where the sweet sweet song takes me every time. Such a little creature such a big soul, sweet sweet, fills my thoughts, with brilliant light, leaving no room for sadness on this dark, dank night.
He looks all cute and innocent, but the translation of what he’s saying is actually: “I just shredded a dozen roses with my bare beak, and I’ll do the same to your face if you come any closer!”
My bird sing the same tune and I think it says “boy you are so so beautiful”. Every time he is singing the female birds gather around the window and go bananas!
These cockatiels are such precious babies, and mine Stella is screaming and my ears are bleeding right now even after giving her a treat stick and giving her scritches lol
"Good pretty birds!" Now, please QUITE LMAO! That's how I get 5 minutes of silents now and then LMAO! And water mist spray bottle as they fly around LOL
I had two of these at one time, an Albino Female and a Grey Male. The Female was gentle, loving and was everything you could want from a Cockatiel . IThe male was given to me and whenever I tried to go near him, was nasty. Trying to bite me , you name it and pecking at the Female. I had both cage doors open most of the time but it did not help. I figured He was pissed off maybe being in a cage all day by the prior owner. Gave him toys, treats everything, nothing worked. So I had to bring him to a pet shop that sold a lot of birds. He was screaming all the way there but I had no choice. The Female lived 14 years and till this day could not bring myself buying another one-Too much heartache over Her.
