Thanks for the videos...love them! We are in southeastern North Carolina, and after 15 years away from sailing, we purchased a Catalina 25 in late fall. Since then I've been doing some overnight stays while getting her in sailing condition...and we are almost there! I love the simplicity of your approach/philosophy to sailing! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Paul This is a bit out of date, but I have only just started to watch your videos. About 15 years ago we had a boat (of the stinky variety) moored on the Hawkesbury. It turned into my favourite place. Watching your videos has jump started my memories of the fun times and I am in the process of buying a 16' skiff to do some dinghy cruising and camping. While I have various boats over many years, sailing will be a first! I am very much looking forward to the experience and hope we can catch up on the water one day. Cheers Bill Esler

Never mind getting an old gaffer back on the water after watching your videos....I'm going to build my own little gaffer, partly as a result of watching you sail. However, inspiration can only take you so far. I'm not planning on becoming a professional chef despite watching you produce some .....erm.........interesting......meals! :)

Thanks again, Paul, for your generosity in taking us with you. The season here in northern Japan is cooling-to-cold, and I have had to put my crafts (kayak, canoe and Seahopper) away until... the promise of spring. At least I can continue, vicariously, with Kate Louise!

Nice to see your season getting started as mine wraps up. The winter covers are already on my Eun Mara "Marianita" but I'm optimistic about getting in a sail or two between storms. Not so sure "Kate Louise"qualifies as a dinghy, she's more of a small boat. Looking forward to more videos.

Another great video Kate Louise! My wife and I just spent the day sailing that very same area!! It is lovely and I also plan a few overnighters in the area soon, a worthwhile endeavor. And who needs all that French wine and cheese that Roger Barnes gets when we have the National Parks of NSW around us!

I am trying to convert a 17' Siren sloop to a more manageable Lug Yawl similar to Kate Louise's sail plan. Can you share with me the areas of each sail and height of main mast...... it would be handy for comparison. Enjoy your summer season sailing....we are headed into winter here in New England, USA so busy putting boats away.

I see that you have a tent above the entrance, is there no hatch to the Cabin or is it for better ventilation?

Hi Paul, I notices that you have a line around your shrouds on Port and Starboard sides going to the gunwale back up to the wire shroud. Why don’t you just have a shackle from the wire to the gunwale chain plate? And how long does it take you to rig her ? Thanks for the information to come.

Currently locked down at home with Covid 19, love passing the time away watching your videos. It’s the next best thing to being there. Looking to build a John Welsford Pathfinder when I can. And in the meantime sailing a “Shellback” 11 & 1/2 foot lug sail dingy. Which I’ll do a little bit of sheltered cruising with till I can get the Pathfinder underway. I am watching your videos in random order, as I just found your site and sees the videos as RU-vid reccomends them. For a long time I have been wondering about the handles on either side of the cabin door, but now I just saw that they are "old-man-handles" to help move from side to side in the cockpit 🤣. Smart!!! Beautiful video and nice cruiser. The misty morning was a magical camp. You call that rig a lug? A yawl? I’m not a sailor; but, I love what you’re doing and could see myself doing that. I live on the south east coast of Texas with much wind and nice bays. The big reason I’m not out there is $$ and skill. Sailing the ocean is no joke. Texas

Nice video! I enjoy seeing it now it is winter at this side of the planet. Would using a boom give a better speed to the boat? I have no experience with lugsail but I am making one (with boom) for my inflatable sailing kayak Briesje for the next season. The simple rigging of a lugsail seems to me to be a great advantage.

So nice to know they have lifted the restrictions. I enjoyed your trip. The fog as it lifted looked amazing. Shame about losing your readers, at least you had a spare pair. Atb.

Hey Paul... yay, 9.22 - i think that's ME you're talking about!? Darn right, what a summer I had! Thanks to you. I just thought - you made the dinghy cruising seem so calm and possible for 1 person, I'd give it a go. Ended up spending my entire 2 week 'staycation' on the local estuary (Dart River), camping aboard 14 nights straight. Got so confident, I even took her out to sea, all alone, around Start Point, and all the way to the Salcombe estuary. That was pretty bl**dy scary, but all fine in the end. It's cold and damp here now, boat's in the garage needing some love and paint, looks like a cracking weekend you had on the water, makes me long for next summer now. Next video, can we see how you recover the boat single-handed onto the trailer? I needed to rope in the wife to get mine out, she wasn't too pleased ha ha...
