She, Joanie, was genuinely emotional during these episodes because she knew it was ending and she truly loved all of her castmates or as she called them her 2nd family. These clips have brought tears to my eyes as well. I grew up in Milwaukee and I loved this show so much. As a little kid my Dad was the Fonz...he had the hair, but no cycle. We used to go to the place that they based Arnolds off of. It's called Leon's. It's a ice cream drive-in type very similar to Arnold's but no indoor seating. But back to the original point, when these last episodes were being done it truly was hard on these people. They grew up together. Erin Moran was a kid when she started. We watched her grow into a amazing woman. This show did everything right.

And to think, life really was like this at one time. The 1970's was such an Great time to grow up and be a part of. Life was simpler. Life was peaceful. And life was GREAT! Then the 1980's came along and life exploded into the world coming alive. People talked to one another. Everyone got along. No cell phones. No computers. No technology shoved down your throat . Did we ever learn if Richie and Lori Beth’s second child was a boy or girl? If I remember correctly, when they moved to California shortly after this, we only saw Richie and Lori Beth one last time in the last episode, when they made it to Joanie and Chachi’s wedding just in time, and their kids weren’t with them. I always wondered why not?🤔 But were they ever even talked about after the move? Seemed pointless to show them expecting another child we never see or hear about.

Watch closely. Erin Moran isn't acting. This was a very close cast and Moran probably felt not unlike those sisters on other videos when their soldier siblings come home.

IT was very close and emotional , when he walks in and the look on Marion,s Face and the hug was genuine , you cannot fake that and it was just like a real good old fashioned family was and should be . The Fonz as well he and Ron Howard very very close and it showed. This always moves me and that says something about the powerful performance by these skilled people , that you fell it . Thats acting .

@@michaelmarshall1713 This went beyond acting. I agree ALL were phenomenal actors and actresses, when these scenes were done real tears were shed. Erin was so close to these people. She loved all of them. Heck she grew up with them as we all watched. The powerful performances as you said are the BEST I've seen. I've loved many great 70's sitcoms. They are so special to me. M*A*S*H, Mork and Mindy, and Happy Days are my favorites. These people showed true love and emotion for each other and yes that was VERY POWERFUL. GREAT COMMENT.

I was watching Happy Days reruns on TV for the past few months and stopped watching shortly after Ron Howard and Donny Most left the show. It was exactly the way I tuned out the show 40 years ago when it was originally broadcast. That is the real moment when the show went downhill, not because of any water skiing over sharks.

I think the reason why they got rid of the Chuck character was because they wanted Fonzie to step into the big brother role more after he started getting more popular after seasons 1-2.
@greggbarnette5316

Good theory...but it would have been nice to give some closure to his character being written off..
@Eternaldarkness3166
@Eternaldarkness3166 7 лет назад
Yeah, but it's not really a theory.. It's in actual interviews during the earlier seasons as to why the Chuck character was taken away, and if you take a closer look at it now, they do actually explain his disappearance. Sometimes, when kids go off to college, even in wholesome families like this one, they still don't keep in contact with them, just because of distance or otherwise. I admit, they should have at least mentioned his name and what not, even during the finale and stuff. But, a lot of shows are like that. I know that there are interviews out there with Howard and Winkler about it, you can even wiki the Fonzie character and it'll say that he started off as a secondary character and moved into the primary role as the show went on. Interesting stuff, if you take the time to research it, you'll be able to find it.
