Throughout her life-or-death struggle for survival, she matures, and has a more brighter and positive view of life, and especially her own livelihood too. The concept that’s not just about deja vu (Groundhog Day) but also a full, consistent redemption arc through her having to become a fearless survivor and fighter to officially defeat Babyface, along with improved intelligence, determination, gaining the will to live, and striving for forgiveness in all her heart and soul (this is such a tremendous journey of a coming-of-age character development), and in this context, Tree transformed from a depressing and arrogant female to someone with a majority of the positive human qualities, such as her being someone who became wholehearted and cultivated and instilled the humanity, colourfulness, good-nature and emotions within her that was blocked out and she was devoid of before the life-changing event. For movies, this premise is my all-time personally greatest concept ever thought of, and I cherish it - which is why this movie is in my top 10 greatest movies of all time, if not top 5! This had led her to becoming someone undeniably, without a doubt, with all redeeming attributes, worthy of love, trust, honour, life, respect, community, etc. Not only does she have a changed outlook on life and wants to openly and freely live her life to the fullest with the people she really truly cares about, she is also very knowledgeable about the arts of battle as she has been in 1 supposedly endless cycle of it herself with a nightmare
Same film making team did "Freaky" with Vince Vaughn! It's funny, scary and with a bit more gore. It's a fun movie if you want to check it out! Great reaction!
Agreed. This is like either her first film or one of her first & like you said, she knocks it out of the park. You have to be pretty good to do nearly the same stuff over & over again the way she does. Love her in this movie..
@@chrisbell9075 This was actually far from her first film, but it was her first lead role in a bigger studio movie. She had made a living as a working actress playing extras or small supporting roles in bigger shows and films like La La Land, and had only played lead roles in very small indie films before this. She was actually 30 years old when she did this film, but the benefit was that she was already a fairly experienced actress who happened to look younger, so she was likely better equipped to play this role at age 30 than she would have been when she was actually Tree’s age.
Happy Death Day definitely stands out as a unique horror film. Something about its formula at first glance your just like: "Okay this is stupid" but over time the film somehow makes it interesting and legitimately wins over the audience so much that a sequel got made! GG to the cast and crew who were involved in this!
I randomly watched this movie on Amazon one day and it was really good! The sequel is also good- I think maybe even better than the original. Good choice
I absolutely love this movie. I absolutely love the fact that they name her Tree & throughout the movie you watch her slowly "grow" from this awful person into such a great one.. That actress kills it.. Thank you two for reacting to this. If you want it to make somewhat more sense, or to at least see the story added on to a bit &, like others have said, to understand this whole thing a bit more, I highly recommend you guys check out 'Happy Death Day 2 U', the sequel to this. I really liked it.. *Btw, Idk if you guys skipped thru it or not at the very begining, but the ever-repeating Universal logo (the Earth & the music for it) continuously starting & stopping in repetition with that record player scratch cracks me up everytime once you know what the movie is about..lmao.❤✌🏻
I loved this movie, very unexpected. I appreciate the fact that they didn't stray from the "Groundhog Day" elements, but blatantly used every trope in that film. The second one is fun too.
It was great seeing you reacting to this gem. It's one of my all time favorite movies. 😂 The second one is really good as well and presents one heck of a twist.
no way !!! literally a week ago I rewatched the movie and was like did nikki and Steven react to it? and now i have the reaction ! I love you guys really 💜💜
I was so happy to see this movie reaction from y'all! I knew it would be a great one. Tree is now one of my favorite horror movie characters. Because what do Trees do? They grow.
I never really understood the concept of Tree getting weaker with each reset. If the day was truly reset, then everything would be undone, including any wounds that would've been inflicted on Tree. But this movie treats each death like a stab wound, something that most people can endure a few times, but if you stab someone enough times, eventually they'll die from the blood loss. Idk, that just doesn't make sense to me.
The only part of this movie that breaks my suspension of disbelief is that at an American campus there is only one single gun… And that gun contains exactly 3 bullets. I guess more available guns or the magazine was full it would have been less fun. The rest of this movie is great, it’s pretty much Groundhog Day but as a college slasher movie, which was a great idea and a fun film.
Ya gotta watch Happy Death Day 2U and then Freaky with Kathryn Newton and Vince Vaughn. Also, The Babysitter & The Babysitter Killer Queen I would put on the same wavelength as these movies. Horror comedies.
I was really hoping and expecting to us getting the scream one last time before the end of the video, it would be fun as F*** (for me, at least). Great reaction as usual, love this movie! Can't wait to see Dead Recoking Part One (again) with you guys!
This is one of the most underrated horror movies in recent memory. The sequel is just as good but way different. It was supposed to set up a third and final movie completing the trilogy but the asshats in charge never greenlit it.
hello nikki or steven (dont know who reads the comments sorry XD) i would have great movies reactions suggestions for you two which would be kill bill volume 1 and kill bill volume 2 trust me thoses movies are legendary im sure you will love them
If you want a good horror movie that plays on the classic tropes, I would recommend "the Final Girls" from 2015. It also stars Alexander Ludwig aka Bjorn Ironside from Vikings.
I saw this movie in theaters on a downright awful first date so I’ve always had a negative connotation of it. Thanks for helping me see it in another light. I may eventually see the second one
happy death day is such a good movie!!!😃😁 so is the sequel!!!😉👏👍🤙🤞✌ I'm surprised the actress who plays tree didn't get more exposed as an actress bc she's sooo good in these movies!!!😃😊🙏👏🙌👍🤙✌ ☹☹🥺💔
Now you have to react to the sequel (HAPPY DEATH DAY 2 U) very good not much horror but more sci-fi, worth the time and explains what really was happening in the first.
Day I forgot of asking you guys if you guys can react to * Peppermint * Divergent ( movies ) * No escape room * Belko experiment * Alita battle Angel * Olympus has fallen * And London has fallen, a part 2 to Olympus * North country * From the tv show * The invisible man * Searching * Missing * Alice in boarder land
My Second Fave Horror\ Comedy ! My Favorite Is The Tucker And Dale Vs Evil! I 💜2nd Part Too! Or Freaky A Highscool Horror \ Comedy! Scary Movies Is A Comedy Series To Me!😵💫😱🤣🥰🖥💜
i love your reactions so much. i began watching your content when you got hooked on GOT. i hope you get to react to one piece the live action series too. kinda wanting you guys to react to it. don't worry too much if you haven't seen the anime. the live action series is first timer friendly. ❤
This is such a fun film. And Jessica Roethe absolutely kills it. The sequel has it's moments but somewhat undoes the fun of the first one and isn't nearly as charming. Still an enjoyable watch, though.
Nikki is just one of my favorite people! She's got a mouth like a sailor, when the tears well-up in her eyes she lets them fall, and she's got the biggest and most solid heart of gold.
@@MamadNobari did I say top 5? Did I mention Jesus? No. And no - not that Jesus wouldn't hold a special place, however eccclesiatics and secular are separate. I'm NOT a religious person. A Believer, ABSOLUTELY. Spiritual, yes, to a degree. But unlike a lot of Americans these days, and people from Central and South America, the Middle East, Eurasia, and Africa... I'm a secularist. So I don't mix religious ideology, icons, motifs, or anything else into my social interests/existence and pop culture.
This franchise is SO great!!! Please watch the sequel too, it's actually a sequel that's really good, AND explains why the day reset for her in the first place!
