The isolation and burnout of being a housewife and/or stay-at-home mom is even more real today than it was in the 50’s because there are few opportunities for moms to socialize that don’t involve the kids’ activities, and the idea that moms gotta “mom” 24/7 without any breaks whatsoever is a recipe for disaster and mental health issues. Trust me…I’ve been there!
