I love her garden journal concept. I’m a fellow pen to paper gal myself and had an extensive 3 ring notebook at my last (2 acre) property. I loved keeping track of what I was doing in each flower bed at different times of the year! I have a smaller space to manage here in AZ, but I think I’ll do it again! I love your mom! She is definitely an exemplary role model as a mom and a gardener. Can't wait for her garden tour! I, too, am grateful for the work ethic my dad taught me. I have never regretted his lessons.

You need to have your Mom write the memories of her grandparents. I have been working on my family history since I was 14, I’m 68 now. Everyone asks me about the family. It’s great to have it. You never regret having a detailed family history
Go mom! I write down everything I plant and have for the whole 37 years I’ve been in my home. It’s exciting when someone asks When did you plant that to tell them that I actually I know when I planted that!!

Happy Mothers Day ladies! Mine is a little rough as my Mother passed away May 12, 2017 so today (Mother’s Day) is the 7th anniversary of her passing. I miss her SOOOOOO much every single day so embrace each moment with your mothers! 💞

Your mother's flowers are amazingly beautiful, didn't know you could plant flowers in late fall for.spring blooms, only thought you do that with bulbs... now I know where you get your beautiful hair , just like your mother's hair.

I can attest to having to re learn some gardening living up here with the crazy weather… cold winters, some years snow, and HOT HOT summers! I would love another tour of your parents property. I'm same as your mom. I have to research and plan and map out things before I make my decisions. I'm also a Libra, could you tell? 😆 And I LOVE retirement!!! It affords me time to be in my garden and meet neighbors who I suspect plan their walking route to include my evolving garden. It's currently exploding with colorful tulips in white, pinks, maroon, black. I want it to attract people and make it inclusive with whimsical touches and walking paths. Next up, PEONIES! My favorite.
Definitely come and see the Butchard gardens Spring is a wonderful time to see all the bulbs in bloom , Summer is spectacular with the Annual display , there is music and dancing , and a wonderful fire works show on the weekend.. Christmas is amazing the light display is spectacular there are Carollers, it’s very festive and gets you in the mood . I have not been in the fall but I’m sure it’s lovely too , they have a lovely Japanese garden . I live an hour away it’s really worth he visit. And Victoria is the city of gardens, lots of other gardens to see while you are visiting .

You have to go to Butchart Gardens! We have been twice in the summer and once in the fall. Summer is best for the roses! Gorgeous place! The fall color is beautiful as well. Just go! Happy Mother's Day!
I really enjoyed this Q&A with your Mom, we are close to the same age so I could relate to so many things she had to say. I too planted snapdragons late fall for the first time and they are still blooming, I am blown away! She had some last for 3 yrs . . .WOW! Butcharts Garden? It's a must, even my husband was inspired and at that time he only dabbled in veg gardening. It is a powerful place that you never forget. Happy Mothers Day!
Hey Janey, the best time to go to Bucharest Gardens is before school is out in the U. S. And Japan. It gets sooo….. busy from the tour buses. It is so beautiful and well worth the trip. The pictures just don’t show the grand scale of the garden. Oh, and take an umbrella, just in case. The tea house serves a nice lunch.
Happy Mother’s Day to both of you. As a Canadian viewer, I highly recommend that you go to the Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC. My husband and I just visited Victoria and spent a glorious day wandering through it. There are other gardens in Victoria that are beautiful too.

Butchart gardens is so beautiful I’ve been in June and the fall, both times it was beautiful. . The girls would enjoy it too. We did a road trip and took the ferry in Washington state to Victoria BC one of my favorite trips of all times
