Yea my boyfriend asked me to his formal (that’s what we call prom here) 26 days before, this was before we were together, I was panicking finding a dress, found one and he didn’t get a suit until the week before, some guys there even said they got their suit an hour before the thing started
Because we actually have to get a different dress from others, so we have to look more, while men get to wear EXACTLY the same thing from each other. Women also tend to need to do their hair, which is usually longer because of attractiveness levels, and need to use curlers and products to look presentable and different from others, while men don’t really need to use much product because their hair tends to be shorter, and because they don’t want to present feminine if they have longer hair, because doing too much to style your hair could be seen that way. Also, men’s hairstyles tend to be the same, especially because they tend to have shorter hair. Makeup is optional.

Thats my bestie getting ready for her quince right now. We've been friends for 2 ½ years now (almost 3) and we first met online and we became friends instantly. She came down from North Carolina to Georgia, where I live, so wr could meet in person. That was the only time since we've known each other that wr've met in person. Im going to North Carolina for her quince but she doesnt know. Cant wait to surprise her❤😄

I wish I could wear a suit to prom and what not as a girl 😭 everyone that surrounds me is insanely homophobic, I’m not grouping girls wearing suits with being gay. But I know I’m gay and wanna wear a suit.
OMG I WISH- my school requires students to fit gender roles because “the Bible says it important” so women have to wear dresses and they have to be modest so it’s not even fun 😭😭
I took most time on my make up (i personally chose to no need if you don want to)and styling my hair ("..."" )with straightener (for top hair)and curling iron (for the hair ends) and otherwise just put on dress and shoes and ready to go! I personally also chose to wear shapewear but thats up to you just like you may wanna wear a suit instead of a dress as a girl in your case. It's not that hard for some girls on the opposite some boys may take longer especially if they have longer hair and/or wanna straighten , some boys might even like to do light makeup like foundation to cover acne (although not necessary)for example!😊
Fr, my older brother had his prom today and I was so confused when he said he hasn’t even started getting ready until like 40 mins before we had to leave and then had time to play like 10 games on his xBox 😭 I would be getting ready hoursss before 😭
omg fr, it was my aunts destination wedding in Thailand in a hotel and me and all the ladies were out of the pool like 3 hours before the ceremony (it’s a desi ceremony which is usually big and you wear big, heavy clothes and earrings, bangles and things on your heads haha) and started getting ready, showering, put the clothing on and jewelry, hair etc and then I go down just to get something from a family member.. then I see my dad, uncle, there friends and the freaking groom sitting down having drinks at the pool, laughing away when I was so stressed
PERSONALLY this is the best part about being a girl. taking your time to look PRETTY ❤ (also me slapping on my grandmother's clothes and outting on a silly hairclips for like 3 school events then procceeding to get hundreds of complements for my outfit on those 3 days)
I wore a suit to our "prom", and yes i can agree that it doesn't take that long, but my mom made me untuck my sirt, so i looked like my dad for the most part, not to mention the jewelry😅
Me who didn't go to prom because me and my friends realised that McDonald's is a much more needed occasion that staring into someone's soul while holding their hand and tripping over each other's feet🙃
as someone who has an older brother who went to prom before, it literally took him 1 hour and 31 fcking minutes to finish cause he was waiting for his "date" to respond to his text 😭
Nah because so many dudes in my school fuss about how their hair need to look perfect, how they needs to make sure the colour palette of their shirt and pants and shoes etc. need to match. Meanwhile most of the girls just choose some random clothing pieces from some pile on the floor they forgot to pick up.
Noooo sooo trueee!😅 All my friends (the girls) and I started around 4pm and we left around 7pm, but the boys were just playing card games until 20mins before we had to leave, one even had to take a shower and still started at the same time as the other guys🤣🤣
as a girl i'd totally be the boy bc bro all i do to get ready for school is change clothes, brush teeth, and fix hair i don't even eat breakfast 💀 if i went to prom all i'd do is put on the dress do my hair and be done
My prom was horrible. I accidently ate cookies with peanuts and was FIGHTING FOR MY LIFE hyperventilating from anaphylaxis and throwing up in the bathroom, I felt my lungs getting tight and throat closing up...just horrible 😅
