Borne there. 1960. Dad was in the USAF. The family always said it was their BEST assignment ever. I have never been back unfortunately.

Nice remember as a little boy hearing this song and many others. Anyone else remember hearing the Gerl Mitchell sings" show on CFLA back in the early 1970"S, I believe it aired on Saturday afternoon?

Love your historical videos. The 3 dogs were hauling a good load of wood. I'd love to be able to find a line of good working old time dogs. All we have now is racing stuff or dogs that are pretty in photos. Thanks for the video.

Yes buddy that's my favorite pict as well, a lot changed for the people in this area when they build the base here, that pict kinda sums it up.... I really like those with the boats along the river bank as well....

Air force, was in operation by late 41. Was a strategic refueling place & later they did a lot low level flying/training here. It was quiet a busy place back in the day, many countries trained here but not so much in later years mostly due to advances in technology...

The one of the jet entering Happy Valley really stands out. I had pictures taken there the day I made my first communion. We lived on 10th Street, Went to school at Mary Queen of Peace on Hamilton River Road .
