I loved the original since it was first posted, awesome to see an HD version! The anime this is from is called "Memories" it's a set of three short films with sci fi themes. The scenes used in this video are from the segment called 'Magnetic Rose', directed by Kōji Morimoto (Akira, The Animatrix) written by Satoshi Kon (Patlabor 2, Tokyo Godfathers, Perfect Blue, Paprika) I ordered the DVD of Memories the day I first saw this video over 20 years ago...
that's why it felt so thought provoking, with those two names! it just kinda sits in your brain and makes you think. makes me wish more animes would do that now a days.
The original audio in Memories by Katsuhiro Otomo used the music of Madame Butterfly by Puccini (if I recall correctly; it's been awhile) - the phantom of the opera was never referenced. That said, the Phantom music overlay was very well done in this music video tribute!
Loved this short it is that perfect balance of ghost story and sci-fi and makes you wonder is it a ghost, a buggy AI, both there is no clear answer and in the end it all is the same and we are left with silence.
I feel like it's kinda at the place where the line between technology and Magic gets blurry. I always thought that it was simply an AI going crazy for all the isolation, where it starts acting like a Wraith.
Initially I thought this was from Millenium Actress or Ghost in the Shell, but now I know it's from Memories. Man, it is such an obscure and underrated gem but it suits this EDM version perfectly. Very haunting indeed.
Ooof I think you just unlocked a core memory for me.This was a part of my childhood/early teens. My friend downloaded it over lime wire along with some Ghost in a Shell episodes. 💗

История простая. Жила оперная певица. Умерла. Для нее, создали в космосе "корабль могилу с компьютером". В последствии, компьютер сошел с ума. А герои, это космические мусорщики вроде. У одного, погибла маленькая дочка. И компьютер, пользовался воспоминаниями этого бедолаги. Потом, этот "корабль могила" взорвался! А другой парень, стал для певицы типа возлюбленным!😅

surprised you still have this. been floating on the webs since I was in high school ~20 years ago. what a good resolution you have it at too. you must have ripped this amv soon after it came out.
I used to have this DVD and this was my favorite story of the trilogy. The gas one was my second favorite cause it was hilarious XD this one was so hauntingly beautiful reminded me of Kaku Renbo

Максимально удивлена увидеть ремастер amv из детства 😲у меня все еще хранится старая версия, ради интереса запустила их параллельно на двух экранах, оказывается в ремейке некоторые кадры не сходятся, но все равно, работа хорошо сделана) по коммментам узнала, что многие в детстве его видели, это прикольно, потому что интернета почти ни у кого не было и клип буквально передавался из рук в руки и писался на болванки)
@@ElenaKovaleva-c8h видимо потому что у меня речь идет о клипе, который состоит из видеоряда и музыки. И в этой музыке, #, конкретно тут нет слов, а я смотрела много раз со словами, и они куда как органичны в этом КЛИПЕ
