So sehr ich das rohe, brutale und verzweifelte des Originals liebe setzt das Album als Remake dem Ganzen die Krone auf. Man hat Aokigahara genommen und kristallklar destilliert. Reicht mir den Kelch. Ich werde mich mit dieser Musik die nächste Stunde betrinken. Das hab ich gebraucht. Love

У дома где я жил был лес и часто там гулял собирал грибы,наслаждался безлюдьем.Часто видел лисиц.И то что изображенно на картинке в одной из прогулок я увидел своими глазами.Слушая этот альбом я мыслями снова в этом лесу..Снова запах сосновых иголок,мха,и треск веток бегающих животных.

Why not? The first albums of the Viennese/Salzburg duo were not faulty. But what was state of the art at that time, can make sense with the experience accumulated over the past 10 years, with a complete re-recording while retaining the earlier basic mood. Then as now: Finest Melodic/Post Black Metal from Austria

I have all CDs and I also have all hoodies and several T-shirts and a long sleeve. AOKIGAHARA hoodie is my best. but..I haven't worn it yet because it's precious to me. I think this is an overall improvement, but I absolutely loved that raw sound on the original and the highs from that rawness are missing here (4:16, 41:21). Also think the piano in "Homecoming: Denied!" should be louder. It sounds super far back in the mix to the point that you might miss it if you didn't expect it to already be there.

My thoughts exactly. The highs are decimated, compare the glorious acoustic bridge in Jhator with what we have here. The modern HFTS sound is good but honestly, I don't think there is anything wrong with the original recording. New artwork is very much welcome though.

@@Roman-uj7sr Because comparing is what people do and that is the natural point of discussion for these albums. This was something that was on my mind when they announced the remakes. I wasn't sure that they would be able to capture that magic when a lot of it came from the wall of sound that the heavy distortion gave. They ultimately didn't, but I do think they managed to improve some things too. There are always tradeoffs.

„For the 10th anniversary of our first album we decided to re-record both, the self-titled one and our second release Aokigahara in its entirity. As some of you might know we produced both albums ourselves and wanted to re-do both with the possibilities that we had with our recent efforts. We did our best to keep their original spirit, but with a vibe thats more fitting to the standards of this band. Ten years back we couldn't really imagine where this journey leads to, so redacting these first, but nevertheless very important tentative steps was something really dear to us.“
