This version is more fresh, innocent and soft. It reminds me of infantile high-school love. The kind that is honest, unaware and fragile. The first love that you only feel when you're young. Pne is a great version too. Parokyas version, reminds you of fun loving, roudy barkadas who would usually sing this in a drinking sesh, than for an actual girl. In fact Pne version lives on, in inumans, more than actual haranas. Both are different renditions and that's what we need, in the modern day full of style copycats. And for those who say it's cheesy. Well that's the point. It is cheese. 🧀. And nothing is too cheesy for a person who understands the feelings inscribed in the song.

Yes I agree, I lived through PNE version for all of my life, but Tony Lambino's makes me feel na 1988-89 yung era, may ganung vibes talaga mga kanta nung time na yun

PNE made it sounds very relatable. Like "Uy! Alam mo ba?" type of telling a story. While this guy made it sounds like "Once upon a time...". Ewan ko kung gets nyo HAHAHAHAHAHA. Pero pareho namang maganda.
How come he didn’t get the recognition he deserved for this song? It’s such a pure version, not just because he’s the original but because the way he sings it.
Marketing. The Smokey Mountain artists were special and exceptional. The problem was that Geneva got all the attention, being a Cruz and cute. Hindi nabigyan ng as much spotlight yung mga boys. Tony's singing was RnB when RnB wasn't a thing yet.

This is just lovely. I just found out that this is the original. His version is like when you are very hopeful for the other person to love you back and you are sincerely loving the person from afar. On the other hand, PDE’s version feels like when you are actually doing the courtship already and you are declaring to the whole world that you are courting this specific person

i love both pne and lambino harana version. ang pinag kaiba lang, sa version ng pne may part talaga na nabibitin ka alam sa feeling mo na dapat may huling stanza pa talaga yun. dun lamang yung version ni Lambino nakakasatisfied pakinggan lalo na yung last stanza. buti nalang nalaman ko yung original ng harana haha

From an article about Parokya ni Edgar: Harana, was composed by Eric Yaptangco, an Atenean who belongs to a batch ahead of Parokya Ni Edgar. It was an old famous traditional Atenean "ligaw" song. And, can you believe this, Toni Lambino (from Smokey Mountain) recorded this song about three years ahead. PNE remade it, but they didn't really change the song's original form. As you would notice, puro acoustic guitar lang ang intrument, wala ng iba. PNE got the permission to rerecord the song, and in turn they should donate Eric's royalties to the charity. Wow, generous! Anyway, there's this rumor that it was used in one of the Dulaang Sibol's plays. And, I have heard that may karugtong pa daw 'yon, pinutol lang daw ng Parokya.

Both version gives diff. Vibe but Still equally great... Kay Tony ung parang datinghang mga ligawan..pure and true and innocent..while PNE highskul love story..genuine, fun sort of chidlish but u know will last.

This version made "Harana" song seems to be the sweet lovable song. Grabe yung lapat ng lyrics, ang conservative at lambing pakinggan. While yung sa PNE, it made it sure na kahit tambay ang makikinig, eh sapul na sapul sa puso.. Two renditions of song, both are sobrang ganda. 😊😊
This sounds so pure. I dunno if it is just me but hearing this song makes me think about "I Love You Since 1892", so nostalgic but somehow also melancholic.
This song was actually composed as a ligaw song back in the 80s by a guy named Yappy Yaptangco when he was still a student in Ateneo. If you'll notice there's a stanza that is not included in the version popularized by Parokya.
