Head to head comparison between this 2 excellent speakers. Hope it gives someone who is interested in them a rough idea before heading to a showroom. Also useful if you are like me, someone who doesnt mind buying speakers used.
This is a first attempt at a video. Listen through good headphones for best effect. There is an obvious difference between the 2 speakers despite it coming from the same family. Enjoy. Would love to hear comments on this.

Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for. Only a comparison video against a different type of speaker can highlight what the p3esr type speaker can do and what it cannot.

P3ESR is better considering its size and cost! It has a magic that the bulkiest lacks! Congratulations!

I have compared C7ES2 and P3ESR many times. The C7 can handle any kind of music very well, produce better dymanics and presence with lower colouration.. The P3 is very pleasant and easy on the ears but cannot play loud and not suitable for rock music.

Love my P3ESR XDs they are a speaker I will keep till the end of my time. They are in my second system and I’m often stopped in awe of the beauty they exhibit. There is something so human about them.

The C7s have more body and range but voices are better with the P3ESR. In my room I prefer the P3ESR with a subwoofer.
@sleme1972
@sleme1972 3 года назад
Yes, the p3esr with a sub is a good compromise. If the room is not too big, I found that the reasonably priced Rel Tzero to be a very good match.

P3ESR has the edge with voices in my opinion. The 7 ES2 has a little more dynamics with instruments, and would probably hold up better with large orchestral works. I guess it would depend on your taste in music, and the volume levels you listen to.

C7 understandably has the better scale and presence, but P3 isn’t far behind. I found the P3 easier on the ears. The C7 sounds more intense but also a bit boxy (wonder why!). C7 demands attention while P3 can be enjoyed in the background as well. When it comes to rocking, C7 does much better, understandably so.

With the front baffles level and the P3 on open stands, like Something Solid, I think the tiddlers would have it. The vocals are so good.

Yes! The P3 'disappears' quite easily in a room. Whereas the C7 will need a much bigger room to have the same effect.

When listening through RU-vid, the smaller speaker has a more accurate and drier bass performance and the high tones stand out better and the listener is closer to the singer! I like the performance of a larger speaker through RU-vid more, because the bass sounds are more spacious and natural and have more breathing space, and the singer does not stand next to the listener! Of course, it depends on the size of the room where the speakers are located, but I would prefer these larger versions for the apartment!
@sleme1972

Glad it was some help. The P3esr is brilliant for small room setup as it can be a little bass shy.

Prefer the clarity of the midrange of the P3...with my Sonneteer Alabaster amp....listen to stuff like Sparklehorse , Grandaddy & Willy Tea Taylor etc so guess I'm in the mellow/rock category.

COMPACT 7 ES2 first place , for wider soundstage vs P3ESR which is a little bit narrow.
@sheffsteel7
@sheffsteel7 2 года назад
The C7 sounds better, more audiophile sound where as the P3 sounds nicer, a more mellow more coherent communicative mid range. Based on these demo tracks I slightly prefer the nicer P3ESR sound but suspect the C7 might excel at other types of music.
