The way that table is designed, you could probably even shim between the top plate and frame members to try and get the flatness even closer. Seems like a really workable design.
I agree, some 1 1/2, 2'' x 3/16, 1/4 whatever is cheapest an the local metal supply to reinforce and shim the low spots and this baby will be ready to rock. At that price, maybe buy another in case you need to join 2 together for larger project.
Think this is a Great deal, and not bad tolerances. Purchased the Northern Tool version years back and paid about $200. Same price now. The Stronghand tool version is $350, but it angles up. Still overpriced. Harbor Freight did good with this one! Thanks for keeping us updated. Happy Thanksgiving! 🙏👍⭐️
I bought one of those tables but I wish the top was a little thicker. I bought a new Evolution saw and the stand and I built a platform that has wheels on it, that lock so it stays stationary when needed. Just bought a plasma cutter and new cart so welding cart are separate.
Sounds like you're all set up Jake. I was doing the same a couple years ago. Picked up a Miller 220, upgraded the garage electric to 100 amp panel and was waiting for Langmuir to release the crossfire pro.....then RU-vid happened and I spent my CNC plasma table money on a MacBook to edit video and here we are. One of these days the channels going to buy the Langmuir and well call it a "business expense". I agree I wish this table was a little more expensive and thicker but for the price it's tough to complain. Good luck with the shop and thanks for watching!
When I read the title, I was thinking that would be a stupid choice of metal from which to construct a welding table- but then the lightbulb switched-on! Nowhere on the HF website did it specify the thickness of the top, and it took until 7:55 for you to tell us, but only in passing. Perhaps the first mention ended-up on the cutting room floor and was stolen by that mischievous cat!
Happy New Year Joe! I thought I responded to this one already! No welders in the queue yet but I have a pretty sweet Miller 220 ac/dc I may bust out for a vid one day. Thanks for watching!
Mikey, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Have a great day! I'm saving money because once they put in the pacemaker, they ended my welding days. One interferes with the other.
Happy Thanksgiving to you Meat! I don’t do as much welding as I’d like nowadays. I spend my free time making videos instead. Spent my CNC plasma table budget on a MacBook to do this channel. Maybe the channel will make enough money to buy me one someday. 😂 Keep an eye on the mailbox. UPS said tomorrow. Thanks for watching!
@@2015_Rubicnn same. Out of curiosity, are yours welded to the frame or the bolt down type like this? I bought 2 klutch tables when the harbor freight ones were impossible to find. Customized one to sit on top of a trans jack to raise and lower as needed, upgraded the casters so they werent metal wheels. Actually turned out really nice
@donaldsullivan6979 I don't recall off hand if they are welded or not, but I'll check and get back to you. I did the same when Harbor Freight told me they had no ETA on their tables and no pre-orders. I bought one from Northern Tool and the other off Amazon. Both were around $179.00 each.
@@2015_Rubicnn you can make it easy when checking, the welded version has nothing but the 5/8 holes in the top and the bolted together version has the counter sunk bolts through toward the edge
The northern tool version comes with the table top welded to the frame(harbor freights version might now as well after these were impossible to find at any store for a long period).
