Great information, thanks! By the way at 7:22 you have a bending tool , is there a video on that build? I went through your video list maybe I missed it? Thanks, Subscribed
Wow, pretty awesome. I feel like this is a rabbit hole though! Once you make one thing perfect you will look at the rest and think about making that perfect. Before you know it you completely replaced the entire press!
Ha!! That can be very true, depending on the perfectionist in you! It's definitely fun and a good learning experience for me to try out projects like this.... and a reason to find out what needs improvement.
@@57moto59 I just bought this exact press and thinking on improvements as well. I am somewhat thinking if I should weld the frame together like the earlier models In your video I saw a little bit of movement on the frame as well, has this been an issue?? Thanks for the help!
The frame does twist/rack and that was with only a small part. It can rack significantly when I really crank on parts. I've thought about welding it as well.
@Baylor Benson Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
You are one helluva teacher kind Sir. It is a pleasure to view your DIY videos and I have learned a lot from them. May Jesus continue to give you the talents you have. And may he bless you and yours always.
@@57moto59 Yes, he posted an unlisted video on his channel. The video is called "Moving an excavator" and it can be found via his playlist "Unlisted...". Your sign appears at the end of the video 👍😀
This is on the higher end of the HF mods I've seen, which beds the question: When is it worth just buying a better press that doesn't have these issues?
@@larrybud I think that comes down to purchasing power. The HF low cost is attractive for most. Most people can't see spending more for a machine that will be used little or is for a hobby. At the time, I couldn't have spent more on a press. If you're running a business that needs a press, you probably will be looking at more expensive units. Many of us can come up with a little along the way for upgrading, but may not have the intial budget to buy higher quality from day one.
I basically made this -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MqwoEBt89zo.html Also look on the Langmuir forum. A bunch of guys have posted pictures of extremely well built water systems.
I just picked one up today and noticed this same issue and I had already planned on building a new one. How thick and big of steel have you bent with the air/pneumatic Jack? It wasn't available so I have to drive out and get it. Nice mod
I do use it as a fixture table with clamps and jigs all the time. Be honest with myself? Weird comment from someone that doesn't know me or see everything I fab. If I'm going to be honest with myself, a fixture table is a kick a$$ tool and invaluable when doing metal Fabrication. Wish I had a bigger fixture table. Your comment just makes you sound bitter and jealous.
