Thanks for your question. The beauty of the metering valve is that it has a removeable plug in the bottom so you can easily drain the media and leave the valve and drain door in place. Want an even easier method. Check out the accessory parts that we sell and look for the brass ball valve media drain. Replaces the drain plug and all you do is turn the handle 90 degrees using the lever and the media drops right out. Solid brass construction valve. Thanks again for you interest in our products. Joshua - thx for your question. Yes, I have had several of my customers use this kit to modify the HF desktop version to work. Also, you may not need to weld at all, just drill a hole to accept our metering valve which comes with all the mounting hardware necessary. Hope this helps. Stay safe out there

Are you talking about the desk top model? If so, yes, our upgrade kit will work. We have had several of our customers install our kit on the bench top model.Just need to be a bit creative in where a couple of things mount. Need a hole below for the metering valve if you want to keep it on a bench. We can help you.

Easy - just take a zip tie or a piece of electrical or similar tape and hold the trigger permanently down in the "open" position and this basically "defeats" the trigger mechanism. Thanks for your question

That pressure is very high if that is at the cabinet. Need to balance the size of the compressor (in CFM) to the gun orifice and nozzle to get constant flow without surging. If you have the original HF gun, that may be the problem right there. They are not well designed Hope this helps

That's a great question. No other shop tool uses as much CFM of compressed air as a blast cabinet. We recommend that you look for a compressor with a minimum of 14-15 CFM (or SCFM) at 60 PSI. The more the better. This allows the use of a gun with a 1/8" orifice and 1/4" nozzle. Smaller compressor with work but require a smaller orifice (like 3/32") and will take more time to cover the same amount of surface area. Also, with higher CFM, you can use a wider range of media and media grit size. Max pressure (PSI) is not as important as max CFM Hope this helps regards Best Tool Upgrades

We don't include a gun for a number of reasons. One is that you may find the original HF gun adequate for your needs with all of the other improvements. We suggest that you try the HF gun after adding the upgrade kit. If you want to swap it out, there are many to choose from with a range of prices, sizes, and quality. Hope this helps.

What do you do about the trigger on gun if the foot pedal is operating.

@@johnnytheexplorer1717 You can simply tape it down in the "on" position and then forget about it. Now it functions the same as a triggerless gun.
