Thanks for the help. Someone gave me one of these not working, would only get up to 40 PSI. I pulled the head and guess what? Broken reed valve. Your link is no longer working for amazon but I was able to find the replacement. Thanks a ton. I now have a working compressor for $10.00!

My Central Pneumatic compressor has phillips head screws holding the cover on, and they're glued with something. Total pain in the butt to get off the first time.

the probably lock tight them so the screws dont vibrate loose after some time. now that I think about it, i probably should have done that with mine.

Thanks for the video! After a year of scratching my head over what’s wrong with my compressor (same model in the video) I watched your video and had the same problem. Broken reed valve! Oredered it on Amazon and should be here in a few days. Thanks once again!

One reed valve goes in that depression in the cylinder. The other fits in a depression in the head. You should stick it there with dabs of silicone grease. You placed it "about right" on the flat spot on the cylinder. If lucky, it aligned with the depression. If not, it will get pinched so the head won't seal.

You missed the top plate of the reed valve assembly

I will have to look into it but I just replaced what the problem was.

The two plates hold the reed valves and a metal gasket between them!. Most autoparts sell sheets of gasket material, cardboard will not hold up well and when it fails to seal the compressor will run too much.

My compressor doesn’t go above 90 on the gauge and the dial says limit of 240 psi could there be another issue?

Hey what size are those head bolts the Allen wrench or whatever that was you using I got to do the same thing to mine but I have no clue what that size is could you please help thank you.
