I’ve been hand sharpening since I started running a chainsaw. I finally broke down and got the sharpener not too long ago! It sure speeds things up this was a very helpful video. Great camera angles really helped see things as you talked

Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I have been hand filing for years as well and I’m really happy with how the little sharpener has sped things up, as you mentioned. So far I am happy with this sharpener. It’s good to hear from you and I hope you have had a blessed summer sir 🤝

Super Gerät, hab auch so ein ähnliches. Mache normaler Weise es mit der Feile.... aber ab und zu mit der Maschine. Gruß Peter

Thank you very much Brian! I’m always happy to hear what the kids say haha. Camden usually comes up with some funny stuff. I see a lot of potential with it as well. It’s really good for getting the chain sharp fast. A little touch up with a hand file and then the rakers afterwards would help even more, in my opinion. But I’m definitely liking the little sharpener so far. Thank you for the kind words and it’s good to hear from you sir 🤝

Thank you very much! I appreciate the kind words 🤝. So far I am very happy with how it’s done. Have you had yours for awhile now? I’m curious as to how long the grinding disk holds up and the machine itself.

I have had it for sometime, but to be honest I used it for a bit . I don't have enough room on my workbench right now to really utilize it . I am working on that so it can have it's rightfully spot...it does work great 👍🤙

I got one back in the day (mine is orange) and I sill have the same disk that it came with it. Your looks to work better than what i go ,, I just hand file as it is alot easier. I am glad it is working for you as they are faster.

Good to know that the disk holds up for awhile 👍. I was curious about that. So far I am happy with how well it does. Especially for the price!

I found that there was way too much slop in the chain stop system. I took it apart and used a razor blade to cut off the flash so the washers would sit flush. I added a washer to tighten things up a bit. I also found that the metal part that acts as a stop for the chained had too big of a loop so the chain-stop flopped all over the place. I tightened the loop until the metal chain stop fit snug on the plastic shaft. There was another area that caused a lot of slop in the system. That was the plastic shaft going into the plastic shaft holder. I used shrink tubing to fill the gap. Once I got done fiddling with the chain stop system, it worked like a dream. It is well designed, but the manufacturing tolerances are terrible.

Sounds like you did a lot of experimenting with it but that it worked out we for you in the end. I’m glad to hear that sir! I am liking it so far. I agree that the design is good all in all and makes sharpening a dull chain go pretty fast. Thank you for your input sir and I’m glad to hear you got yours lined out well 🤝

Interesting. I never tried one. What about the rakers? Do you use a depth gauge? I still sharpen by hand and my angles are usually off.
@bluegrassoutdoors
@bluegrassoutdoors Год назад
I just use a flat file to hit the rakers and no gauge. Not because I don’t like gauges, I just need to buy one haha. I have sharpened by hand for years and can get them sharp but it takes me quite awhile. I’m not the greatest at it haha. So far I am very happy with how this little sharpener has worked!

Meh, I looked at it in the store. I thought it was cheap and poorly made. And it was 49 bucks. I just couldn’t do it. I bought the Oregon.

It works well. But hand filing works better for sure.

Way too many moving plastic parts for me. I hope you enjoy it but I will stick to a hand file sharpening.try your hand at square ground hand file. The square grind files are. Ot too expensive,and once you get the hang of it you can sharpen a 20 inch chain in just a few minutes. You ain’t going to have electricity to run that thing on when you are out in the 200 acre woods. Learn to square file and I think you will throw that little grinder in the corner and forget about it. Another great informative video. Keep ‘em coming

I enjoy it a lot so far and plan to continue using it 👍. I usually always keep round files in my vehicle though when I’m out in the woods for when I need them. I may try the square grinding as well in the future. It definitely seems interesting. Or bring an extra chain or two. Hope you have been doing well Garry 🤝
