Don't need tie down points. Loop a wrachet strap around the resting bar and around a rung on the ladder. Have the tension pulling towards the front of truck. Do the same at the rear, but have the tension pulling towards the rear. Opposite tension will hold the ladder in place. Been loading my ladders like this for 30 years.

Installed this rack myself. I Cut down small ratchet straps and secure the front of the ladder to the front brace. Then I take bungee cords and put one on each bumper next to the ladder. I don’t like to make a giant loop around the ladder and around each brace because then you’re pulling the braces towards each other and it’s putting strain on the aluminum part that hugs the bed. You can see it, pulling up from the bed. I will say you went a little heavy with the impact being that it’s aluminum. It’s pretty snug his back that nut it comes with and you’re good to go. Harbor freight did it again and sold a really good quality product my opinion.

Not a huge fan of the c claps. Started bending my bed rail and felt i could keep going for day's. Its toght though. Is the nut supposed to be towards the bottom of the clamp?

Happen to know if this would fit on a 2022 tundra crewmax short bed? Been fighting these bed rails looking for a rack that fits. How deep do the mounting brackets go in under the rail?

Looking to put this on a Ford Maverick, and it would obviously have to be cut down. Is there any glaring reason why the upgrights can't be cut down? Perhaps any vertical threaded holes running inside the top or bottom of the upright? It looks like drilling horizontal through the uprights shouldn't be a problem.

Anyone know if an extension will attach that goes over hood ?

It concerns me that the supports are attached to the mounts with a single bolt instead of being welded.

I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ru-vid.comUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
