If I missed this, I apologize. To mount the wheel axel bracket, fold the legs up under the stand and put a sawhorse under the end to lift it up. With the legs folded out of the way, it's very easy to reach the nuts. Ty for your review.

Superb quality throughout, easy to assemble. I found the saw to be highly accurate and a delight to use (I am a homeowner using this saw for various projects). I attached the saw to a folding mobile stand to save space and that works great ru-vid.comUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe as well. However, you have to be sure the saw is securely locking in position before collapsing the stand. I've had many of the brands over the years and have come to point where I only buy Bosch, the extra money is a small price to pay for the quality and ease of use. Treat yourself to the best.

Great review William! I did notice, however, that you had not yet installed the stop screw on the material support shaft. It helps by keeping you from inadvertently pulling the shaft completely out when using it to support the unit on end for storage. That given, I really like my stand and have a DeWalt double bevel Sliding Compound saw mounted which is pretty heavy. It takes a little muscle to lift one end to set the legs, but it is a very stable stand and works well. It makes transport a breeze too versus carrying the saw around. The only real drawback is you need a couple of saw horses to have a table to store your moldings, etc. while you work since there is nowhere to lay things anywhere on the stand. That's really not a big deal but I know you are going to enjoy your stand as much as I do mine. Enjoy!

Great review! You taught me a thing or two. One thing I would like to pass along to everyone is that other than the 2, 15724 mounting brackets, there are no other parts available. I had an unfortunate incident with mine. It was standing in my garage. There was no saw mounted on it at the time. I didn’t have the lower support by the wheels extended far enough to keep it balanced, and it went over. I thought everything was fine with it. I got the stand out this fall and I noticed the Support with the roller was bent. I managed to straighten it out. I went to reassemble it, and I realized that the upper black plastic guide with the lever on it was cracked. I called Harbor Freight thinking I could buy a replacement. They told me there were no parts available other than the aforementioned mentioned mounting brackets. I took the cracked bracket off, you will have to drill out the rivet in the extension tube, I took the plastic part and cleaned It with rubbing alcohol. I ran a bead of crazy glue along the crack, and clamped it in a vice with the hollow cavities on the backside facing up and left it overnight. I mixed up a batch of JB well, and after cleaning that cavity out with more rubbing alcohol, I filled it up to the top. I let it set for at least two days. I will add that I didn’t remove the guide from the vice after gluing it. I left it in the vice I just didn’t want to take any chances. After a few more days I took it out. I cleaned it up thoroughly, and I dusted it with a light coat of spray paint for plastic. I slid the bracket over the extension tube, popped a rivet back in and reassembled it. It turned out perfect. Sorry for the epistle, I want everyone to know. I do like my stand in spite of the lack of parts. Thank to all for your patience.

OMG! I'm thrilled to finally know how to get the stand up on those other two legs. I won't tell you how I was doing it, sure wasn't the common sense way you did it! In fact, I loudly stated, "OH!" when you set it up. Such an easy thing, most people would know. Duh! Thanks so much! Fantastic saw and stand, easy to use, love it~

I bought a Wen on Amazon. It was only around $100. I had a difficult time bolting my mitre saw on it. Trying to hold the washers on and get the nut started underneath. The bolts they give you are long and I had to cut 2 down to fit on the front of the saw. After I had it all assembled, the thing would not stand up straight in the storage position and wanted to fall forward. I searched on YT to see if someone had a video on one like it and watched this video. I saw how much nicer this one is, so I went to Harbor Freight and got one. Thanks!!! One thing I liked on the Wen was it had three electrical outlets on it.

Took back my Kobalt Miter Saw Stand because it could not support my 12" sliding miter saw standing vertical. Plus the release buttons for the legs are a huge plus. Not to mention the roller support knobs that tighten at an angle gives it much more sturdiness than the kobalt stand. Lots of little upgrades that are worth switching. Thanks for the in depth video that helped me switch to this stand.

I found it a little easier when, after lifting the handle end, unlock the legs on the wheel end before lifting it up. You then just have to grab anywhere on the legs to swing them down. You don't have to mess with unlocking them while you're holding the unit up in the air.

This makes my Hitachi stand look like a kids toy. Who knew HF would produce a nice rig like this. The roller slide outs are much better than Hitachi’s elbow cradles. I’m also having saw envy. That Makita is gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing the projects that bad boy churns out 👍👍

To make the rollers where they don't collapse from a heavy board, rough up the paint on the square tubing and it works a lot better. A lot of people have been having the handles break off because they are just tack welded in a few spots. I preemptively welded mine some more so that they will never break off. I also made mine where I can remove the pull out arms that the material rests on. This removes 16 lb of weight and makes it easier to load in and out of the truck. That mod was not so easy because I had to make the little clamping things captured so they wouldn't fall out. For me it was totally worth it to make it lighter to load and unload.

I have one of these. Currently have a 10” slider on it. Overall quite sturdy. Only real downfall is lifting it on the “wheel” end to set the legs. Should have been designed with a handle to lift from. Unfortunately it doesn’t have one. All you can do is lift but it’s sharp (not cutting sharp) but “very” uncontrollable on the hand with a saw on it. A serious design flaw! Hopefully Harbor Freight can engineer a hand grab as an accessory that can be attached at a later date. Try it in the store. You’ll see what I mean.

Great in-depth video! Im searching for one currently but no local stores to me have them in stock. Quick note for easier setup.......while standing vertically, flip down the lower legs along with the uppers and tip it over on all fours. Prevents having to bend over to lift the saw while simultaneously folding down the legs.

The sale on this ends today, it's $150.00. I'm going to pick it up today for the discount price. It's a coupon so I'm pretty excited to get this. I have a DeWalt DWS -779 12" slider and that thing weighs almost 60 pounds and I'm getting too old to lug this thing around without wheels. Everything else I've seen that is comparable including being made out of aluminum costs more money. I saw some steel ones on Amazon and those things weighed like 40 lb. If you are trying to haul something around that is heavy the last thing you want is for that thing to be made out of steel, unless the thing is so heavy that aluminum can't handle it. Aluminum is perfect for these stands.

That looks like it would be 100% more useful than the old stand I got from HF about 15 years ago. Apparently whoever wrote the directions and built those never thought about the wheels because the way it assembles the wheels are on the wrong side. Its an OK permanent miter saw stand but its not mobile at all due to the backwards design.

An easier way to put the axle on, is to stand the unit up vertically on the opposite legs. Then fold the upper legs down and you have all the room you need. The instruction don't tell you that when you install the workpiece supports to be sure to install the one with the feet on the end with the wheels. I had them switched and wondering where the feet were. It took me a few seconds to realize what I did wrong. Bolting the saw on is a LOT easier on this one than the Wen. I also had a loose screw and another part. After looking at the exploded view in the manual, I found it was the guide bracket. I had skimmed through the instructions because I had just put together the Wen, then I saw the bracket is mentioned on page 5. Still not sure why you need it. The only thing I can think of is if you have a stop set at a certain length and for some reason you need to remove the saw from the stand, you can put it back on without having to reset the stop. But that only works if you don't move the stop in the meantime like to stand the unit up vertically. On mine with the wheels on the left end, the guide bracket is on the back side.

first off, that’s a nice miter saw. i have the bosch 12” with the axial glide, but i like that large rotary table and te extra large area out toward the handle. i’ve never seen a miter saw built like that. good choice! i’d put a plywood table on both sides of the saw. better yet, put a piece of plywood as a table and bolt the saw to that. a bench is always useful. that’s a descent stand. how much?

I found a easier way to lift the saw and stand. Lower the legs on the handle end, then on the wheel end, extend the support bar close to the ground. It gives you more leverage for lifting.
@williams6262
@williams6262 4 года назад
I do the same thing.
@TinkeringJohn
@TinkeringJohn Год назад
I tried it that way and didn't like it. When you lower the handle end 1st, that end of the unit is just supported on the narrow handle. Then when you lift the wheel end, the unit wants to tilt over to the side. Lowering the wide wheelbase end 1st gives the unit more stability.

It’s a Harbor Freight product so the instructions are mediocre at best. Can’t follow them as written which says set it up on all four legs then install the wheel bracket. If you do it like this person said you have no problem fitting a 10mm wrench on the nuts and an allen key on the bolts (through the bracket holes for the top most inside bolts).
