Farpoint Farms gets its first new yard implement in a long time. Its The Harbor Freight Predator Auger Powerhead With 6 inch bit. Time will tell if it holds up as well as my last one.
I'm the same way, you can buy a used one of higher quality on Craigslist for less if you can find one in your neighborhood but I ended up with this one from harbor freight, you can rent one but it ends up costing the same so why not own it for next time you need one, or if you like planting this will help a lot.
BE AWARE the box says a 39 inch auger. IT IS NOT... it measures only 27-1/2" you might get 30" if you bury the head to the dirt. Harbor freight charges a 20% restock fee when you return it.
Got a lot of fence posts to do at our new house; going to get one of these soon, just got a super coupon. Going to snag an 8" auger from Menards for it as well.
Utter pure trash.. i cant get it to start..the string feels like its stuck.. got 2 blisters trying to get it working.. bought one and it work for half hour, turn it off and cant start next day.. return it and got another one and it never starts.. both of the pull string feels like it kind of stuck, at times when i try to pull it hard and the string gets stuck causing me to get blisters.. dont waste your money..
