Temp range probably most impressive feature IMO. Most others only go up to like 750 f.

Thank you for the review. I've been looking to get one for myself for at work but they've been so expensive. I don't expect these to be NASA accurate but as long as they are consistent that'll be good enough for general troubleshooting. We have a Fluke at work but it's not always available for use. If I do spot a problem with my personal unit I can atleast go back with the Fluke and get the exact temperature for reporting purposes. Thank you again.

Would it work for finding moisture and termite inspection?

I've used different types Flir and fluke. These devices are cool also some other uses, you spot a breaker that's getting to many amps, during the winter check you house for heat escaping, or computer parts overheating. The list goes on thanks for the vid. Oh don't forget the paranormal in case you want to look for ghost.

I am looking on getting a thermal camera. Just for fun. And in the process of it is fun make a video of it. What I didn't get a chance to know was does it record video or take pics. Didn't see you use that feature.

It takes photos, the one used in the video came from this unit. It doesn't do video.

Is an emissivity from 0.1 enough to find termites behind walls?

Just tape your cell phone to the wall and wrap on it a few times oh hit voice record..... If you hear a Cascade of tiny termite poop you have termites or you did

NO, THERMAL CAMERAS DO NOT SEE THROUGH ANYTHING, THEY ONLY SHOW SURFACE TEMPERATURES.

I think the quality falls short on this unit. My flir is way more detailed. I think I'm going to return mine.
@1D10CRACY
@1D10CRACY Год назад
Flirs use to be pretty expensive, have they come down into this price range? I think these are focused towards the mechanics. A higher resolution isn't that necessary for most troubleshooting. That being said the geek in me would like to see more.
@fesco2205
@fesco2205 Год назад
@@1D10CRACY I like to be able to see each fin in the radiator. Or differentiate the ac lines. I hate the battery on my flir but it is a great picture.

Most of the cheap atleast around sun $2k thermals seem to have that msx outlining also. I didn’t start getting to the real clarity until the multi thousands on the flir B60 or a handheld mono ocular that the military used I found used for about 6800 but that one was amazing. Like facial recognition detail close an afar. That one was insane. But the flir has that msx stuff. It’s ok. I like true clarity if I can afford it vs a thermal overlay of a digital. It’s like a completely different world

But with the resolution 32x32 its just a toy - not from the funny sort ....better save the money and buy a real good one as the UNI-T UTi260b or the InfiRay C210...they give you night vision too with the 192x256 thermal resolution. Discover moisture and water leaks behind walls also just possible with this high resolution and high sensitivity. For about 100 bugs more you get 48 times more thermal pixels and a real funny toy and professional tool.
@1D10CRACY
@1D10CRACY 2 года назад
Na, 32x32 is sufficient for a lot of issues. Sure you can have a higher resolution, but you really don't need it in most cases. I will take a look at the models you have mentioned though! They make for a great tool Tuesday! I appreciate the comment and recommendations!

Can I use this to find rodents in my walls?
@1D10CRACY
@1D10CRACY 5 месяцев назад
A thermal camera is probably not a great choice for this. These cameras are only looking at surface temperatures and not really looking through walls.

This is really bad for PCB board repair. It cannot pinpoint exact broken nano chips and capacitors.
@1D10CRACY
@1D10CRACY 6 месяцев назад
The resolution is too low for component based work. But keep in mind it's marketed for automotive and HVAC repair. You don't really need a high resolution for that industry.

32 x 32 ? XD This is a 200$ piece of junk! You can get a proper infiray one for a little more money!
@1D10CRACY
@1D10CRACY 2 года назад
Yup! Works great for what it is. 32 x 32 for thermal imaging is plenty for most mechanics. I suppose if you didn't understand what you had you could consider it junk, but most mechanics will be fine with it.
