These seem like they are made by the same manufacturer as the other version of these stubby sockets, I do compare them to the Capri versions and the Capri does not have a hex drive but they do offer master sets in stubby where the Quinn is only these basic sets but they are a competitive price.

These are all made by Tien-I, a company in Taiwan that manufacturers tools for different brands. These are identical to the Husky, Ares and Astro versions. Harbor Freight is close to half the price of the Astro Pneumatic set and the exact same product. Plus you get the advantage of the easy warranty process at HF if need be.

I mean same factor or company doesn't mean same quality unless they have the same part number on them and then a different logo laser etched or something it's not the necessarily the same but I don't really care about that is it good enough to do everything you need then unless you have a better warranty or something then if someone wants to spend more money then let them not my problem

I have the astro huskey and sunex kinds of these nano sockets they all seem to wear the same

I think I trust Capri and Astro for post purchase support and warranty over HF.
@Ratchet313
@Ratchet313 6 месяцев назад
@@Dan-wt7jxWhy? Capri requires you to fill out warranty request, a receipt/transaction number and images of your tool. Oh, and you had to buy it from them or a “authorized dealer”. Then you need to wait for them to review it and ship you a new one. Harbor Freight will exchange your tool no questions asked. You get a replacement immediately if you take it into the store. If you live close to a HF, you can’t beat getting that replacement immediately.

@@WHATDATTOOLDOyeah I have the Astro 3/8 version and I just picked up the HF 1/2 a few weeks ago. There is no noticeable difference in quality and finish between the two sets.

Great vid Catus, These sockets used in conjunction with a ratcheting flex head box or dbl box end wrench like the atm or tekton is nice for many occasions and Regarding using them with conventional ratcheting wrenches, I used to stick paper in there to hold it in place as well however the absolute best method is using either one of those plastic socket rail clips/holders, just put the clip into the socket like on a socket rail but you have the 22mm or whatever size wrench in the middle but even better is the Gearwrench quick release drive tool adapter part number EHT9230 …..then you have it on a quick release too which is nice 👍🏻

I like the rail over the foam. Foam takes up too much space in the drawer.

Great review, again, thanks! Helpful to learn about these HF stubbys. My experience, limited for sure, with stubbys is they don't have enough metal to really torque them (your "splitting" is absolutely correct). I use mostly deep socket for most jobs because they host so much more alloy, C-V, etc.

I actually have a both sets of the stubby sockets from Quinn. Nice and a lifetime warranty to boot. I highly recommend.

Great Vid. I just purchased these in metric and sae. It would be nice if HF would sell a singular 22mm extra long box and flex ratcheting box on other side for these. I purchased one from a competitor. This makes them super handy and low profile. Similar to there 200 plus dollar Icon 7:00 xl offset ratcheting box wrench set. So for less than 125 bucks I managed to put together a great low profile option for toolbox in metric and sae.

GEARWRENCH P/N 86022 Double Box. Solid end to break things free and ratchet end to run em out quick.

@@chrismurray3390 Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that Astro would make one for their 1/2 like they did for their 3/8.

Yea, unfortunately the 22mm is the problem. Still a worthwhile investment.

I'm fond of the Astros and would pay more to have them on a nice rail. Being able to put a wrench on them really saved me one time. The only drawback is that less mass gives less impact, so I've had to go to a heavier socket to break things loose before.

I don't generally need that big of sockets and prefer a set with 3/8 drive and for a ratchet with the hex that is low profile is the astro i think that is 17mm or 19mm i together but id prefer not trying to really reef on a like 1/8 thick worth of a ratcheting wrench

Hello again, Catus Maximus and Tiny Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Question for you. These sockets could be used in a Box End Wrench. What size would be needed to make it work. If you mention the size I didn't hear it. Or will they just fall out? The reason I am asking, is I need to work with SAE tools and if possible find it in 12-point. I enjoyed watching the video. Again thank you 👍

They need to release the 3/8th version, hopefully the 6-24mm variant aswell.
