Amazing how one gentleman could be so well versed on so many subjects! Congratulations on your retirement. The twins will certainly miss their favorite PS.❤️❤️
Hey buddy thanks for your comment. I know you’ll have a good time with it unfortunately you have to buy some disks as it doesn’t come with any Take care joe
Thanks for the video,,, I just bought mine today for $19.99 (not on sale) but the warrior disc (1/16 in thickness) were on sale ($5) for 10 of those....
Eye protection and hearing protection are a must. However since you where talking about the number of grinder related hand injuries, you should probably consider using cut resistant gloves as well. Otherwise good video. Be safe.
Hey Bruce , thank you for your comment. Eye Protection is absolutely critical for a stationary grinder such as this bench grinder or hand-held grinder I told agree with you. Your protection from loud things as well cut resistant gloves probably not the best idea because if they get caught in the grinding wheel. They’re gonna send your hand into the wheel and it could be really bad. Consider subscribing. Thanks, Joe.
I started to buy this grinder, but opted for the Hercules paddle switch grinder instead. The Hercules costs over 4 times as much, but it has top notch parts inside it.....all steel gear box.....CW brand bearings packed in good moly grease.....a nice heavy duty German made Marquardt switch that is reinforced with thick tabs.......quick change safety shroud made of thick steel.......More Power (11amps). IMHO, the Hercules is actually better than some of the big branded grinders that costs $100+.
Thank you for your comment. You definitely purchased a much better grinder. But for the money this grinder is an incredible deal. I think we all decide on which tool is best for us based on our needs and the Hercules you purchased is probably best for more of a continuous usage. Thanks again Joe
While I agree that the longevity of the power switch concerns me, I will say that with having my kids around while working on projects it's nice not worrying that they might accidentally turn it on as I can barely figure out how to get it to work hahaha! Seriously though it does seem like a safety feature even though it feels janky.
Thank you sinrock’s survival for your comment. I’m pretty certain that that switch was supposed to work better than it does. I don’t believe it’s a safety feature it’s just kind of a crummy switch but again this grinder works great and for 10 bucks, when on sale, it’s a real deal. Please consider subscribing. Thanks - Joe
@@JosephHunstad i didnt even know how to put the disk on but you showed me in the video . it took me 5 minutes to cut through the barrel . objective complete . and who can complain having a surgeon teach you things without having to pay for med school . hehe thanks again Doc ! #Salute
@@time2cclear Glad it worked out. Always keep two hands on the grinder they can be very dangerous. I’ve taken care of many grinder injuries of the hands and other areas in the past. Take care joe
Just bought product. Pressing spindle lock button to remove flange and insert disc. It will not hold in place so I can loosen it. Am I missing something?
Hi Mike thanks for your question. I know with a diamond wheel with moderate pressure you can absolutely cut Masonary products. I don’t know about the 4.3 amp one? I assume it can as well but you’d have to give it a slower feed rate. Thanks Joe
Hello Pete. I don’t use it every day but I use it periodically and it runs just as well as It did when I put it together. So far so good. I think it’s gonna be pretty darn durable thanks for your comment Joe
Thank you for your question. Absolutely grinding wheels and cutting wheels can be easily exchanged and used in this machine. They were equally well. Take care joe
That’s a really good question. Obviously you wouldn’t expect much however this grinder performs. I’ve used it heavily on grinding welds out of steel and it certainly gets hot but I have never had it short circuit or fail yet. For the price is quite remarkable. Thanks Joe
Thank you for your comment and question. All grinders have a typical layout with a cylindrical body and then a handle placed usually perpendicular to the head. One hand grips the body of the grinder the other grips the handle. There are no hand guards outside of this. Grinder accidents are common typically because the grinder is being used with one hand or the operator is not paying attention. You must keep your hands firmly on the handle and the body of the grinder to avoid injury. Always wear eye protection and hearing protection. Grinders are a very common source of injury. I’ve taken care of many grinder injuries due to these problems. Take care hJoe
Don’t ever use gloves as they can get caught into the device and stay stuck to a finger or two and not let go this does for over devices like drills or circular saws they usually catch on to loose stuff like sweat shirt strings hanging on them or hair
Hey Chuck, I got your comment. I’ve never had to use a player to remove the disc. Sorry about that. Maybe the arbor needs to be sanded a little bit or cleaned before you put a new disc on. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe.
You are totally right the reality is I won’t be throwing it around I’ll be taking good care of it as I do my other tools but for an inexpensive grinder this one really fits the bill thank you for your comment Also I do have some Makita tools and they are very very good no question I have a Makita grinder more than 30 years old and still works like a champ but it’s a corded one
