I got up at 4am to load up my dirt bike and drive to the middle of nowhere for a hard enduro style ride with far more skilled people. Why? Because I was invited and couldn't pass up the opportunity. I am a C class rider, and these people rip through technical. One even works with the US Hard Enduro series to design and sweep courses. However, I was not out there to prove anything, and was invited with people knowing I would likely need assistance through certain sections. We ventured far off the beaten path, so far that there was no path at all. Instead of singletrack or black diamond riding it was just up creek, up cliff, through bush. I am so glad I went, but this definitely was not my cup of tea. A million thank yous to those who rode with me and provided both physical and emotional support. I am proud that despite my internal panic and terror at times, I kept my demeanor relatively chill. As Rachel said, "This gives you a benchmark. Everything's a cakewalk after this."
