Hard landing of Transavia Boeing 737-800 in Rotterdam-The Hague
Arriving in beautiful weather at Rotterdam - The Hague International Airport.
The descent and approach were nice with beautiful shots over Northern France, Belgium, Zeeland and Rotterdam. Everything was pretty smooth, but the landing.. Look for yourself!

Nothing wrong with this landing. Okay it's not smooth, but at first he floated which is not desirable at such a runway, so then lower the nose a little and touch it roughly. Also, listening to the engine's thrust settings on final approach, the wind was changing all the time. So maybe the wind decreased during the flare, which causes the plane to fall down.

Mixamo1993 exactly what I thought, but I think the wind increased during the flare at 15:12 which lifted the plane, forcing the pilot to make a firm landing due to the short runway

Bart Smith that is also a possibility, although than you should see a change in pitch and as far as I see it, I don't see the pitch going lower. But like I said, for such a runway there is nothing wrong with this landing!

Ik heb deze vraag al tig x gesteld waarom de landingen op RTM altijd HARD zijn...het antwoord daarop was...veel last van crosswind omdat de baan W-O ligt dus bij een harde ZW of NO of andere windrichtingen is het gewoon het beste om het vliegtuig met stevige voeten ( wielen ) hard neer te zetten, vraag het maar eens aan de cabin crew en als zij het niet weten, leg het eens voor aan Transavia...ik vlieg al jaren vanaf RTM en elke x een harde landing enne...de baan is ook wat korter dan op SPL. (y)

+Captain380 sorry, I am notfrom France. I understand you're talking about Transavia being French, but it is originally a Dutch airline, now with a French part. Obviously, this was the Dutch Transavia flying to Rotterdam

I have already asked this question for fifty times why the landings on RTM are always HARD ... the answer to that was ... a lot of crosswind because the WO course is located in a hard SW or NO or other wind directions, it is simply the best to put the plane down with firm feet (wheels), ask the cabin crew and if they don't know, explain it to Transavia ... I've been flying from RTM for years and every x a hard landing And ... the job is also a bit shorter than on SPL. (y)
