Tried doing my Sequoia lights twice and couldn't get them right. None of the shops around me will tint tail lights. Watched this video a few times and tried again. Ended up perfect. Thanks for the great videos and detailed tips 👍
❤ I am learning and very determined. I gave a 2012 Toyota Camry that I am trying to detail out the "taxi" look. Head/tail lights, fog lights and different spoilers. I screwed up taillights by using too much heat and wet solution.... But I will get it!
Been watching these videos to learn how to wrap. Gotta say really high quality of information. Coincidentally you're wrapping a 2019 RAV4, and that's what I'm working on! Keep up the awesome work and really appreciating the techniques you're sharing! Thanks!
tried my CRV 2020 tailights last week. SUPER aggresive tailights. failed my first attempt but if there's one thing i learned from this channel it's to learn from past mistakes and keep trying.
I failed tinting the lights on my RX 350, similiar agressive lines of this rav4, plus it has a shark fin like the GS and IS. I think your method here will help me out a lot. Thanks for the tips!
Great video once again. I watched all your taillight tint videos but I think the hardest light to do is on a Lexus GS 350 or Lexus gsf because they have two shark fins on the side of the light which make it impossible to wrap. I tried so many times and failed. If you could get that car and do a demonstration of how you handle the install or even if it’s possible to do. That would be so much help!!!
I guess film is universal and thus the best option for the tints, windows, etc. But it’d be nice if there was a film-thin cover molded to your vehicle lights shape to just slide right over hassle free
I’ve never used VViVid and have only tinted relatively flat taillights - they came out great but, how come you can keep picking up the film without leaving a ‘fog’ or glue line on the transparent film? If I lifted I had to start over
Vvivids Smokes are really easy to use! The best stuff I got my hands on :) But I always thought it would be to thick for Knifeless Tape Something new learned ^^ Thanks for this clip!
Really awesome video, thanks very much for taking the time to share your expertise. A quick question and sorry if I missed this in the video: 1. What was the purpose of the knifeless tape? In another light tinting video of yours on the basic lights you didn't use the knifeless, just the hobby knife. I'm trying to better understand when to use the knifeless? Is it just a different way of trimming the vinyl to fit the light and provides cleaner lines on complex shapes? In what scenario do u use knifeless vs. craft knife to trim? 2. It seems like wrapping the light while ON the car is the easiest way to get the best results, that sound accurate? Thanks again for your help, appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions if you can. Thank you!
Thanks for the great videos as always. I will be making my first attempt on a 2016 Golf R to tint tail lights because of your tutorials; fingers crossed!
This is so awesome. When I first started watching your videos I was 'okay let's see if I can find more on other channels' Now you like my go to wrap guru for all my tough installations or refresher. Thank you My customers love my work and credit to you for taking so much effort in to what you show us Fucking A++++++
Wow! Looks so nice as it hugs the light. Clearly a pro 😃 I just got my first Vvivid tint film and its extremely nice to work with. Now I just need to practice 😊
I’ve been having trouble with Lexus tail lights everyone says they are not able to do them you should make a video of the rc F tail lights or is 300 tail lights tinting would be very helpful 👍🏼👍🏼
I don't have any experience wrapping so this might sound like a really stupid question but could you use this wrap on the body of a car if you just wanted to darken the original colour of the car ?
Can you give me advice on how to tint the tail lights on a 2021 volvo XC60. I did it without a heat gun in two pieces and it's peeling at the edges. I went and got a heat gun so that I can do it outdoors, but I'm wondering if you think that it can be done in one piece
Going to try this on my Corolla Hatch ! Tried a couple times and i just can't get over the weird angles and little intentional bumps .-. Hopefully this works :D
Man, I’m trying to wrap a 2012 Prius V tail light and having difficulty with how to stretch it. It seems going in the opposite direction of what you did here might work the best.
I’d love to see how you do a super difficult one like a Kia Stinger GT (because I’m trying to figure out how on earth to do mine). There are a number of parts that are concave and I can’t figure out how.
Thank you Christian, do you ever use the dark tint from vivvid and if you do can you do a video please, as you saw I've done mine on my car it's OK but it's got a bubble here and there so I'm going to redo it when we get a bit warmer.
Great informative videos...about to tackle head and tail lights on a 2018 Murano...wish me luck as these are difenetly intricate lenses. What type of tape is the yellow you ran around the edge of the lens?
M2 Comp tails plz. I can't seem to get it in one piece. Would love to hear your thoughts about them even if you just take a look at them without actually wrapping them.
love the knifeless tape, but always find it to not cut how i want it. am i just being too picky i want it to cut like a razor or is there better stuff than the 3m brand? overall another great video Christian
I had mine done with the same shade of film and the guys didn’t use any tape or took as long as you did, but did an excellent job. You’ve overcomlicated.
hi Mr. CK Wraps! Would the same technique (of stretching at 9:06 ) be applicable to a 10th gen Honda civic hatchback taillight? The curve is sharper in this case. Thank you!
i am going to tint my 08 subaru legacy tail lights and headlights, the tail lights are slightly conclaves, any suggestions as to how to pull the tint to lay it on the light? i was thinking of having me pull the tape to keep tension while someone else squegies/ pushes the tape on the light.
Im not sure what is the knifeless tape for? and why it was only used on the edge between the light and paint, and not the space between the two light sections. Is it to protect any damage from the blade?
Excellent job, as usual.. Unfortunately I didn't do a very good job on mine, and now need to remove it and start over. It has been on for a few months. Is there a good way to remove it without damaging the lights?
Im gonna try and do mine a 2019 ram 1500 and they look pretty difficult to do...do to the fact of how the blind spot sensor is designed into the tailight
Any luck? My brother and I did an 05 Colorado a while back. He got a '19 Ram 1500. We tried, but the indentions in the taillight proved to be a big challenge. We actually gave up lol. Any luck on yours?
I’m trying to wrap 2019 Chevy Bolt taillights right now. Not going well. Have you done one of those before First time wrapping taillights. First time using Vvivid tint vinyl. Looking at this video looks like I’m not stretching enough over the top where it’s bunched up and I can’t work it out.
I’ve attempted now 5 times. I got really close the last time so it’s an incremental success. These lights have two concave curves on the long side and hard corner at the top. I got a bubble trapped in the lower concave part and when I went to pushed it out it popped through the film leaving a wrinkle and what looks like a little cut. Then wrinkles around the top corner that wouldn’t shrink out enough. Almost did it.
