That demonstration with the loader was insane. The most weight of any one wheel is total weight divided by 4 on any one ramp at a time, but not insignificant. 👍😗
these videos are what sold me on southland trailers. i bought the sl714-16 dump trailer just because of stanley's videos series on southland trailers. i researched dump trailers for a few weeks and visited all the trailer places in my area numerous times asking questions and looking at the trailers over and over. so many choices. but then i seen how southland builds theirs and the design they use and i figured if its good enough for dump trucks, good enough for me. also, i know people whos dumps trailers have rusted thru in spots on the bed because of low spots caused by the bracing. when i loaded 8-9000lb of concrete and went to lift it, the middle of the pile lifted then the box. kinda freaked me out as ive never seen that before but it lifted just fine. looking forward to using this trailer for many years to come. thank you stanley for the southland trailer series.
I love his energy, & knowledge. Then the factory & workers. Saw excellent work stations, good equipment, clean, etc. Have seen lots of Southland semi trailers on the road, all seemed to still be in good shape. But from an engineering standpoint, those look to be more sturdy than most everything I've ever seen! (& been around for almost TOO long, lol!). Great tour, along with all the others that you've done up there! Thanx !
Good morning, Stan! LOVED this video, Brother! I thoroughly enjoy how you get manufacturers to overload their products to prove their sturdiness. I like these guys. They not only talk the talk, they truly walk the walk! I have no need for a trailer, but I'd damn sure buy one of theirs just to say I have one! Thanks for sharing! Have a great weekend! God bless.
I have a gal-iron pipe in to the ground hold up. I painted it with metal paint and it is still Black and standing. Won't rust at ground level and ground water is running by it under the place it was placed. Acid rain will melt back gal coating. Rusted roofs... But if you paint it it works. Fantastic trailers.
I have bought a Canadian plow 5 years ago. The thing have taken abuse and barely no rust at all. Only rust on my plow is the damn bolts which I should of used stainless steel instead of grade 8 bolts. Now southland has me thinking about buying a trailer.
If you buy a aluminum flat bed for a pick-up for the most part theyre cheaper than steal because thehre robot welded compared to the steel ones are hand welded so theyre pricer because of that
Those ramps are impressive, but I will tell you from experience that one use is quite a bit different from multiple use over the course of a week. The proof would be in someone who uses it regularly over the course of 3 years to show how well they hold up over time.
Trevor is awesome in the video. Seems like a great guy and very passionate. I’ll bet it’s a great company to work with or for! FYI I don’t really ever post anything like this be he just seems really cool.
I would totally purchase a southland trailer but there is not a lot of dealers in the north east without driving a considerable distance, I hope they add more dealers soon
Not first but I’ll take a top 20. Trevor is not a salesman. He is a cross between Bryan Cranston and Billy Mays. He gives facts and lets the results speak for themselves. Thanks for the road trip Stan
@@martinscluffhi thanks for the feed back. I have a western wide out and a western v plow. I had a Myers plow but have had nothing but problems with it for the past 2 years (I am lucky if I get even 1 full shift out of it.) The store I purchased from has finally agreed that the plow is no good and wants to give me a snow dog Instead, however based on Stanley's videos I am very skeptical of accepting it.
i got a 15k southland Equipment trailer from my local dealer and i have nothing bad to say about it. I have had mutiple friends tell me that the trailer is way over built for its rating. my future trailers will be coming from southland.
I'd buy Southland before Diamond C, my buddy owns a construction company and says he'll will only have Southland after owning both and the Southland is far more durable and better engineered and doesn't rust
"Doesnt rust" and steel trailer doesnt go together. Anyone that says their steel trailer doesnt rust is lying to you and has never been around many trailers(i sell trailers for a living)
