Pros: light, nimble, great maneuverability, stability for a 10’ kayak is good I’m able to stand on it, easy to carry up and down 45 degree banks, over trees and top load on cars/suvs Cons: tracking is not the greatest, but expected for this size boat. Definitely need an anchor system when fishing in wind or current cuz it’s hard to hold a position. You will spin a lot. Overall a great throw and go kayak. For the stability, you definitely need to learn the stability of it before loading it out with a lot of gear.

So with the CK 1 what are you looking to get from it that the Primo doesn’t offer? More stability?

More stability and hopefully little better tracking. Also more space for camping gear. Not much more space, but the weight capacity will help too with performance.

@@Itchin2FishI got two Primos, SW MO river fishing/floating and it’s awesome boat. Thinking about adding another boat to have 3 for sons to use … looking hard at the CK1 for better fishing/gear experience , just need it to be good in shallows and track decent. Love your vids!

I’m 6’ and 236lbs. I feel comfortable on it and I stand in it as well. With any kayak, I suggest you paddle it without anything except for a paddle and pfd. Lean on it side to side and test out your primary/secondary stability. The CK1, Shoalie and LT are more stable with better performance for a higher price of course. I usually pack only what I throw on those fishing trips without hauling a lot of extras. I’m comfortable with my gear on it and you can definitely add more depending on your weight, gear weight and the total weight capacity of the Primo. It’s my throw and go, so I personally wouldn’t have tons on it to keep it lighter. I don’t feel cramped on it with my gear, but more weight unevenly dispersed will make it feel more tippy.
