Arnel knows how to mold his mouth to be able to replicate the sound and singing style of the original artists. And he has been successful in doing so for all the years he had been a cover singer prior to his stint with Journey. Most Filipino cover singers do the same thing.
From San Antonio Texas. I saw a video some time back of Arnel being called up on stag e by Peter C. To sing this song and another where he was invited to sing with Chicago as a guest. You know that not many singers who cover a song are acknowledged by the band they are covering. He is a superb singer.
I saw that on tv when thae band member interviewed , they are asking AP if he heard them to be their guest while they are still at the airport funny but true.
Give Arnel credit he has alot to offer and i doubt any of you can touch him in talent wise. He has word hard to be where he's at today. And he has never once said he was Steve Perry or anyone else.... He should be more noticed for his talent and hard work. Arnel if you read this i've been your fan sence i found out about you n will always be a fan. Your a great singer n soul.
He’s a singer, he has made a career basically standing in for the originals and giving the fans the experience they want. He’s got a great voice (though understandably aging), and seems happy enough to supply the vocals. And he’s keeping these bands on the road, earning.
No!!!
Why do people always have to make comparisons? Absolutely senseless... All voices are fundamentally different and undoubtedly unique in itself. Arnel’s voice is incomparable because it has its own personal voice color and tonality... Just let the man sing and appreciate and acknowledge his greatness! ❤️
Other than the long time it took to finally get to "Hard to Say I'm Sorry", this was actually pretty good. I could be wrong, but I think Arnel hit almost every note in the original key. Given the fact that this was a live performance and Arnel is over 50(I think), I expected him to suck. Far from it. Wow!
Arnel Pineda eres un excelente cantante desde que te escuche cantar me encanto y pensar que fue de casualidad que te escuche y gusto muchísimo como interpretas las canciones y nos traes de regreso esas canciones del recuerdo.........
Hell NO he doesn't. That's an insult to one of the best singers EVER. Pineda can't touch Steve Perry and he sure as hell cant touch Peter cetera with his voice or vocals either. . my ears are bleeding listening to the first verse.
@@dennishawaii5267 "my ears is bleeding listening to the first verse" - Wow! You're such a disgrace human being! The way you criticized as if you are capable to sing that song!??? Lol! You are nothing and nobody but a jealous thicked faced idiot with zero talent! 😂😂
Ariel has a beautiful voice BUT the problem is that he never came up in the so called ranks within the music industry, creating his own music with his own band. He played in an already established group, Journey which was well established by Steve Perry. Naturally, fans will gravitate toward the original singer because, that what was original when it became a hit song. Same thing with this song, Peter Cetera has a very unique voice, just like Steve Perry did/ does that is why they are who they are! An artist is based on creativity “FIRST”, song writing, than vocal performance. Covering songs leads to those who made it, bringing a little prosperity but not stardom or hall of famer singer.
This is old! Should've realized by now that probably he's not after that stardom thingy! He just loves to sing and was groomed to sing..many appreciates him doing all these covers..IMO
Arnel is the real deal! An excellent singer in his own rite. I love Journey and appreciate how he’s kept that band going but I was totally blown away on how good this was sung. There are a lot of bands that could use his vocals. way to go Arnel, keep me coming!
DEAR ARNEL PINEDA! Don't you dare leave the band Journey! We love your fenomenal voice ❤ you're an amazing singer! ALL great singers like you have had moments like this ... its absolutely no reason to give up! 💪 We admire you & your beautiful voice 💪 I believe your voice was very tired that night. Unlike all the instruments your band plays, your voice is YOUR instrument & its made of flesh & not metal ... our voiceboxes & vocal cords get tired! That night your voice was tired ... plus the sound wasn't right. For me, you have a better voice than Steve Perry ... and a lot better looking!!! Stay put, ARNEL ... stay strong... don't you dare give up!!! 💪🫶 Love from Portugal 🇵🇹
That's the second best cover of that song I have ever heard, right behind Arnel's new Journey bandmate Jason Derlatka's version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TUJmSgViGoM.html
@@kelman997 That's true, but Jason did produce the recording, played the piano, bass, and performed the lead vocals and harmonies. He also directed the drummer, guitarist and cello player too. I love Arnel, but he'd be even more incredible if also played an instrument onstage. I always admired multi-dimensional lead vocalists like Peter Cetera.
I love Arnel, he's underrated, a terrific frontman one of the best out there, his voice is always spot on. Generally, I find him one of the hotter singers out there too...but here, if he was trying to look like Ellen DeGeneres, he nailed it.
Arnel you are good singer instead of doing cover songs get some original material and do them you’ve got the chance of once in a lifetime and carve your own name in music or fear sounding like a karaoke dude from manila
I believe he has original material. 'Owe' and maybe two other songs, but these ventures into new music never seem to do as well as the covers he's been known for.
