TreyTrey22 the sniper jackal alley on the earth mission is so easy to skip, just jump onto the roof tops and jump directly to the new Mombasa hotel, they jackals won’t even spawn
@@TheSharkKing45 Yes, well, you can't use either if you're going for the LASO or under 3 hours achievements. They have a 0.00x multiplier which negates any achievements time or score based and the LASO achievement has to be done in the LASO playlist. But yes, they make Legendary much easier to do especially since the Scarab Skull on Halo 2A now has bottomless clip and by extension, unlimited ammo, so you don't need Bandanna and Scarab Skull on at the same time.
Imagine how the look out for the little guys achievement affects lore. "Casualty report" "We have lost all troops except..." "What" "The demon has spared all the grunts" *end call*
grunts can die, just can't kill them yourself. I put the skull where grunts explode after death so when sentinels or flood killed them, they all die within a chain of plasma glory. I even tricked elites into doing friendly fire on grunts just to clear the path. And I got the achievement.
Failed the first time, got it second, then did it a month later for another friend. We found 2 guys running wasabi plasma pistols, double drain, then grenade stick was the key. You got rather mechanical with it. Man, my housemates hated that game (they didn't play, but lost the TV in the lounge for evenings at a time)
I remember doing Annual with my dad and a couple guys we found on gamefaqs. Ran ODST's vidmasters with some friends from school. Wow, found it's page on the old Halo 3 service records. Feb. 21, 2009. It took 1:25:48 to complete(does time reset to previous checkpoints?)
A good friend and I did the vid masters. I got it, he couldn't log into his account to get it to work as he made a random email with a random password and didn't remember.
Even the legendary one where you can't pick up any weapons shouldn't be too bad if you put on the Bandana skull and if you put the Iron skull on (in co-op)
Ugh, I hate that you're right. But 343 is releasing the MCC on PC in the same "chronological" order where ODST is released after Halo 3 instead of before where it should be.
@@RocketSloth Hey man it's alright, videos are a lot of work and you inevitably make little mistakes. 343 are also making the mistake of calling it chronological unless they said they're just releasing reach chronologically.
The legendary ending in halo 3 odst has johnson and the prophet of truth in it,and they both die in halo 3 so it comes before You would think that 343 would know that
@@SChocker2008 halo 3 odst begins at the end of the metropolis level in halo 2 when the carrier jumps to slipspace inside the city they know this they made the halo "bible" as they call it to maintain continuity this however was not as import i think. Would still be cool though if they added a chronological playlist where you switch to odst right after metropolis ends
@@Striker_1502 I know because you can see in amber clad go after the cruiser into the portal.ODST takes place in the destroyed city of new mombassa, witch was destroyed in the level metropolis in halo 2
There are so many skips and tricks that make a lot of levels a breeze, in fact to me it feels like the par times were made with those in mind so playing it normally makes it almost impossible to get the achievements.
@@thatsneakyneenja2595 I feel like Halo 2's borderline unplayable gameplay is just generally accepted because of how many skips there are, and how well known a lot of them can be. As a result, the 3 hardest levels are Cairo Station, Regret, and Gravemind purely because you can't skip content or cheese encounters. But to be honest, I never really mind Regret and Gravemind because they're both followed by two laughably easy levels.
@@tTaseric The only 2 parts I actually hated in halo 2 legendary were the heretic leader boss fight and the prison. Everything else while difficult wasn't that bad to play through once you knew what you were doing.
Incorrect all around- it’s the exact opposite of that. Speedrunning is objectively far easier than playing normally. learn the tricks and bam that’s it. that’s literally it. then use the starts in normal gameplay and you’ll realize that speedrunning helps you immensely. It’s unbelievably easier. Delta Halo in Halo 2 literally is more than 50% out of the map, 35% driving, and 15% walking. You need damn near zero skill to get through delta halo speedrunning. You need a lot of skill to play it normally and not die every 5 seconds. I SUCK and still, in 1 phone call I could help get you to a 1:30 Uprising run or get you to a sub 8 minute Quarantine Zone. You must be confusing speedrunning Halo with other games that require insane skill based tactics to plow through levels quickly. No. Not Halo. The glitches throughout Halo 2 make things insanely easy compared to just following the path. Despawning multiple waves of enemies within seconds, being completely out of the map so you can’t get seen let alone shot, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
@@nonope2246 Ah, I see, you don't know to save and quit the moment you die and continue so you can start from your checkpoint. Trying to speedrun LASO sounds like the stupidest thing anyone could try to do to me.
I just got the monument to all your sins on reach not too long ago. It was probably the saddest achievement I ever got cuz it was the last one I needed on reach. It made me cry... God love that game!
Ah a monument to all your sins. God that fucking sucked. The amount of times I got fucked by catch skull over and over and over again.... so many plasma grenades... I can almost hear that eerie sound of it sticking to me
the fucking lobby before the elevator. Halo 2's the only one I've beaten solo, and twice at that. Thank God for the Scarab skull making my second run easier.
@@HarryBillyBobGeorge I've done every Halo on Legendary solo (excluding the twins stick games) and enjoyed them all but Halo 2. I never want to do that game again.
You mean killing two people with one shot from the Spartan Laser? Yeah you had to get lucky with that especially since it had to be in a Ranked match to get it & had to hope the other players easily lined up together for the shot.
What the achievement actually required was to get a double kill with a single laser shot, on the ranked FFA playlist. That last bit made all the difference, because theres no longer any free warthogs, less maps had a laser, and everybody was in sweaty mode. You just had to get lucky.
You can do it in campaign as well. On The Ark, when you come out of the first building with the first terminal, you can laser the Brute.... things. Vehicles. Brute Warthog. Thing. Also possible to get it on the first beach in The Covenant after you shut down the first tower, before you get in the hornets the first time.
I remember I only got it because two guys also needed it at the same time and we all helped each other out that match. Keep in mind this is mid 2010, like no one was helping anyone else out with this anymore. I am forever grateful to those two strangers.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 I'm 498/700 pre-halo 4 release, so I'm well on my way 😊 How dare you accuse me of using achievements to boost my self esteem while I'm failing at school, what a dastardly accusation....
I have done this once but I already had the achievement from the pillar of autumn mission. My friends were very confused as to why I was screaming with joy. It was invasion too :D
It's worth mentioning, the only reason that monopolised is the rarest achievement in MCC (more rare than LASO master) is because the majority of people that have the LASO achievements cheated for them. You used to be able to get a checkpoint from someone who was and the end of a LASO campaign, and beating that last level would count as finishing the whole playlist. If you check the time/score leaderboards you can see the vast majority of people have stats that don't make sense (total kills for the entire playlist being like, 20 or the time taken to do the entire playlist being less than one hour). Fortunately this has now been patched, so you can't just cheat to get it anymore. I've done all the speedrun achievements, and H1, 2 and 3 LASO (will do ODST and H4 at some point, but I have been too busy with uni of late) and I can say, without a doubt the LASO achievements are WAY harder than the speedrun achievements.
I know this comment is a year old but its also worth mentioning that MCC on steam can ban you if they catch you cheating for achievements. (unless you open the version that allows cheats/dont get achievements with)
@@WaddIes The ability to cheat for the achievements was only available in the first year MCC came out, well before it was on steam. Also, it wasn't technically "cheating" in that it was just an in game exploit. There was no moding of game files or anything.
The best achievement I ever got was "Silent but deadly" which is to kill 7 enemies in 1 level without being seen (if I remember correctly) What made it memorable is that I got it during the halo 2 mission quarantine zone. I was in a scorpion tank and rolled up on a hill, there were a handful of flood combat forms that I shot at, missed, and hit the wall. However when they were turning the blast actually killed them all at once. So yeah, I got silent but deadly using a tank
Idk if you’ve seen the new halo 2 AUP glitch, but I got this on an alt account by turning into a grunt and backsmacking all of my elite and grunt friends.
Funny thing about the Vidmaster Challenge Endure. Bungie, in their ViDoc Road to Recon, originally wanted us to play 4 players over LIVE. But here was the kicker. Make it past SET 7 on LEGENDARY! Think about it. They originally wanted us to make to Set 8 on Legendary... which, might I remind anyone who haven't make it that far on ODST Firefight, that by Set 4 all skulls, minus the secondaries, Thunderstorm and Iron, are basically turned on... so yea... Thankfully, after beta testing it, Bungie realize that was way crueler than expected. So they lowered it to what we got in the retail version. Make it to Set 5 on Heroic with 4 players on Live.
@@MrElias760 ain't that the truth. The I made it to Set 5 on Easy on Crater Night years ago. I mainly gave up since my mom thought it was a good idea to have clean my room while I play. And her spring cleaning is random, so I had to stop. But damn was it crazy, even on Easy. But it is a nightmare on Heroic and Legendary, hence the achievement's name.
It takes nearly 3 hours to just finish Endure now, and that's with friends who are both patient, know how to communicate and cover you when needed. If it was twice as long, that'd make it at least 10 times as difficult with the curve of enemy modifiers. Drones already have freaking shields and take three melees to go down after that!! I wouldn't even attempt it tbh. And I've beaten Endure three times to make sure all my friends got it (and after the first time, the pressure is off if you while you try to do it better since you know what to expect)
Halo 4 had pitiful ammo capacity for every weapon and almost no battery life for the plasma weapons, its one of the main reasons I hate playing halo 4.
LucLeader Gaming Halo 4 and Halo 5 are opposites. I liked halo 4s story, but the gameplay left stuff to be desired. Halo 5 had a god awful campaign, but the multiplayer is pretty fun
Oh my lord, I couldn’t imagine putting myself through that. I’m not good enough to do LASO runs (only done a few levels in Halo Reach for the LASO weekly challenges), but I’m working my way through the games on regular Legendary. I’ve done Reach, ODST, Halo 3, and I’m in the middle of a Halo CE Legendary playthrough that I abandoned once classes started up again. One day, I might try Halo 2 Legendary, but I’d never do it on LASO
Who wants to play halo 3 and help eachother get achivements since no one at all is playing ranked i cant get the ranked achivements so if yall could please help i would really appreciate it and ill help u get the achivement i got too like if i stuck u five times with a sticky grenade ill let u do it to me
I'd suggest creating an account on True Achievements for that. Can easily find session on there for people to boost some of the old ranked achievements as well as sessions for other achievements whether it be Halo or any other game.
As hard as the vidmaster challenge in Halo 3 was, it was also some of the most co-op fun I've had in Halo, so much so I've been eager to help other folks out and done it several times.
In Halo 3, the achievement 'Two-for-One' for getting a double kill with a single spartan laser shot was a pain in the dick. You'd think this achievement would have been easy in a team game, just laser a warthog gg ez achievement. But no, because it was only obtainable in a ranked free-for-all playlist. So in a ranked free-for-all game, you had to: - Get a map that had a laser - Obtain the laser - Shoot at two people close enough together and pray one of them doesn't kill the other before the charge completes.
Yeah. The only chance to get it was in lone wolves. Once you leveled up in LW people wouldn't just brawl together and line up for a 2 for 1 shot. Not to mention that laser was a rare weapon only available on some maps. I got to skill level 50 in LW and got every other achievement in Halo 3 but never the 2 for 1. I think I had like 10k matches played yet never hit a 2 for 1 in ranked ffa.
I remember “If they came to hear me beg.” I probably tried thirty times before I actually got it. I either misjudged my jump or the elite moves last second. I’m not sure an achievement that relies on RNG like that is the right kind of challenge though.
Save Halo 2 and some parts of 4 almost all the games in the series were fair and reasonable to play on Legendary I think. I actually had a lot of fun in my ODST Legendary run. It forced me to actually try sneaking around a whole bunch.
I'm currently playing through Halo 5. And when I tell you that the AI loves to WATCH YOU BLEED OUT for no reason... Least fair Halo game. I've done all the rest save Infinite, and enjoyed them. But five... Five sucks.
Not only did I get all these achievements, I’m proud to say I’ve gotten every Halo achievement across all games (including each version of Spartan Assault and Strike, Halo 5 Forge for PC, and Halo 2 Vista)! And I can definitely tell you that there’s a ton of very difficult achievements other than these listed that were incredibly frustrating to earn. I could tell you some stories... ;)
All I know is that it probably took a good couple weeks total across each game. The Master Chief Collection in particular took forever! And I’m certain that they’ll add more achievements when they release Reach this year.
Whenever I see someone with a LASO or Endure completed, I don't say "wow this guy is amazing," instead I think, "why would you put yourself through that?"
@@JonTostanoski Life is short enough as it is, and some people are stupid enough to waste that valuable time through absurd challenges for unlocking a cosmetic item on a video game.
The “if they came to hear me beg” achievement literally took me less than 2 minutes to complete. I even got it done while getting ready for work. Then did it again in under a minute when the Mister Chief helmet came out. Idk why so many people have trouble with it?
WorryingRogue57 Only if you take your time. Halo 3 Legendary is easier than CE simply bc it’s balanced. But Halo 4 Legendary is easier than Halo 3 Heroic, which is too easy by itself Hell, Halo 4 LASO is easier than Halo 3 Legendary with Mythic and Tilt on
I went for it in MCC on legendary and finally got it but the achievement never popped. I tried it again and it still didnt pop. I found out that ITCTHMB isnt in mcc. I still kept doing it because it was easiest for me.
Endure was one of the hardest things I had ever done. Tilt+Black Eye is where it got really tricky. But we did it, by god we did it. And the Recon armor was so nice.
Imagine an achievement that requires you to play through H CE, H2, H3, and H4 on legendary with all skulls active, and if you die once, you have to start all the way back to Halo Combat Evolved
I remember back on Halo: Reach for the 360, I had every achievement, except one, before the DLC was released. A Monument To Your Sins. I’m gonna go for it in the Master Chief collection
"Halo 2 campaign harder than other games" You're telling me, took me super hard work just to get a checkpoint during my fight against the elite waves for the IWHBYD skull.
Sean Barrett it’s basically beating the par time on every level... on legendary... At least for Reach; I haven’t added up the other par times for other campaigns
I always wanted to do all the vidmaster challenges but I didn't have many friends who played Halo and the ones who did weren't playing all the time. Also I doubt I would've been good enough to get all of them anyway.
Halo 3 was like no other gaming experience EVER, I remember being one of my only friends to get recon and rocking the katana, there was so much to halo it was deeper than just a game, before recon was even available it was always like a ancient legend that there was a secret way to get it. best gaming days of my life!
If somebody thinks Jackals are the issue, they aren't good enough yet to try LASO Master or Monopolised. The issues are Truth and Reconciliation, Two Betrayals, Regret, GRAVEMIND, The Ark, The Covenant and Long Night of Solace. Each of those levels are the litmus test for their games. Source: I have LASO Master and the speedrun cheevos, done solo.
2:50 on Reach on the MCC I literally did "they came to hear me beg" and then I was gutted cause I realised there wasn't an achievement for it in the MCC ;(
I 100%ed halo 3, ODST, Reach, CEA and 4 for the 360. Those completions are probably my greatest gaming achievements. Also 100%ed Destiny 1, so maybe it’s just a love for bungie.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! I didn't know the "legendary in under 3 hours" achievements were on a per level basis... I did all four in a single 3hr run solo. So much pain for NOTHING
I got the Monument for all your sins achievement within 5 days of Reach releasing, I miss my teen years when I could pump a game in a week. Takes me years to just start a game nowadays. 😴 -> murdocke on Xbox. P.S thanks for the flashbacks of vidmaster challenge endure, that took a couple of tries.
Ive gotten just about all these achievements on the original games. I think i dont have a few achievements on the halo 1 remastered and halo 2. But overall i have most of the hard ones.
I must be really lucky or really good at PvE, but I currently have almost all of these. Also, "looking out for the little guys" has to be done on legendary, not heroic. It's one of the worst experiences in my life. Then the "Ark, no vehicle on legendary" one is also horrific because you can't even board a vehicle.
Back in the day, before Halo 2 came out, my friend and I beat Halo CE by playing with our feet. I wish there was an achievement for that, but that was before achievements were even a thing.
Doing 4 on Legendary was relatively straightforward having beaten 5 on Legendary, but 4's particular difficulty quirk to me was how your vehicle is always a wet tissue in comparison to the enemy.
DredgeX97 , that explains it, stick back to the far wall on the east side and lure them round for double assassinations 👌, easiest method next to the no-scoping one on legendary
halo 2 legendary is easy..if you know how to speed run it. The first 3 levels are fast, you can past alot of things too. And if you learn the spawns of the jackals you're golden
Doing every level on halo 5 legendary solo is so annoying It took me like 3 days I think it was in total about 18 hours to complete with a lot of deaths and not even with all intel and skulls collected the ai on the teammates is awful lol they can’t revive you on rocks for some reason and they rush the warden if you tell them to target him and don’t even hit his back usually and on specific parts they didn’t even attack anything unless I commanded them too lol
Who else causally plays through the campaigns on legendary? Ima work on gettin these on MCC, I've already completed the entire achievement list for Halo CE Anniversary on 360.
Kinda regret starting my Halo CE Legendary playthrough on the Original Xbox version, since I won’t get any achievements for bragging rights, lol. I’m almost done with it, so it wouldn’t be worth restarting at this point (*Fuck* Two Betrayals)
Just got on steam when I saw 700 achievement I was so happy and all my Xbox ones transferred so I don’t need to do some of the downright evil achievements
15:11 the ai in halo 5 is actually not better. It just uses cheap tactics, lots of teleporting lots of homing enemy rounds lots of overwhelming forces.
