The Lore. I want it! I NEED it!! Top 5 hardcore intros would be 1. Soaked in Torment by All Out War 2. Soul Sacrifice by Power Trip 3. Social Crusade by Judiciary 4. Set it Off by Madball 5. Overkill by Momentum Turkey banana
Let’s gooooo. My personal top 5: 1. Break Yourself/Least of My Worries - Guns Up! 2. The World Is Empty - Wrong Answer 3. Intro II - Initiate 4. Sickness Divine - Red Death 5. Number 1 - Down To Nothing Honorable Mention: all of the cold world intros.
Perseverance is the first non-old school hardcore punk record I ever listened to, and I was sold immediately with Proven. The riffs, speed, hard riffs, and LYRICS.
Just wanna drop in: Turmoil - Playing Dead For The Love Of - Crawl to Hide Both set the tone for excellent albums that are too often looked over in general. But man, both The Process of... and Feasting on the Will of Humanity are some of my all time fave albums.
For The Love Of is the best hardcore band from NJ. I don't give a fuck what anyone says. Better than Floorpunch. Better than Fury Of Five. Better than E-Town Concrete.
Five of my all time favorites no way I could make a strict top 5 list Cursed - Polygraph Converge - My Unsaid Everything Warzone - Intro Bust The Killer - Pills Think I Care - The Hammer Avail - Simple Song as a punk bonus Also can you fools try and get Toby Morse on here sometime
Turkey banana! Amazing picks and obviously lists are subjective to the list makers. I was dying with some of the epiphanies and revelations you both were having with each other's picks. I will humbly leave mine...not even sure if this is my #10 or #1 Coalesce - You Can't Kill Us All from Functioning On Impatience. Amazing episode...thank you!
I understand Colin saying Bad Religion is “true valley music and sounds most like it here”. As a guy from Tacoma living in Seattle, nothing hits more than Alice In Chains on a rainy day 🫡
Have to drop a special mention of 'Danse' by FURY, monster opener to an album of hit after hit after HIT. Sets the tone perfectly for the entire record
Turkey banana all the way!! Love all the videos you guys are doing. Watching these is kinda like hanging out with my boys and totally nerding out over similar stuff. Anyway, keep it up and keep it real guys! Oh, and my pick would be Step on it by Slapshot.
Title Fight - Numb, but I Still Feel It Wrong Answer - The World Is Empty Cro Mags - We Gotta Know Agnostic Front - Victim in Pain Terror - One With The Underdogs
My top 5: 5: vocal test - integrity. 4: conform - nails. 3: missing limbs - dropsaw. 2: lets start with my nervous breakdown - life.love.regret. 1: intro/losses - downside.
Turkey banana; I think my pick would be worms of the senses/faculties of the skull -Refused The Shape of Punk to Come. Found them on punk o rama 4 and got stuck on a train for 24 hours between San Jose and Portland only cd I had for my disc man. Got the CD but it was so much heavier than anything id heard it took until highschool that I could handle the album beyond summer holiday vs punk routine. Now I look at this album as the most bizarre. Beautiful. Beautifully produced chaotically heavy melodic hardcore albums of all time. One of the most authentically pissed off sounding bands ever. I hope I'm not breaking some refused rule. I couldn't believe it when they ended up playing Coachella. Truly though an all time epic intro. Into an all time great album. IMO the greatest heavy album ever recorded. Never heard another album even sound like this.
Converge - My Unsaid Everything Minor Threat - Filler Tragedy - Conflicting Ideas Snapcase - Drain Me / Filter Botch - To Our Friends In The Great White North Turkey Banananana
Yeah man turkey banana favorite show of all time. When I've seen all the episodes or you guys aren't doing full episodes and stuff I relisten to old ones.
TURKEY BANANA. For fun, I'll do the modern era. 1. Drain "Feel The Pressure" 2. Mindforce "New Lords" 3. Gridiron "No Good at Goodbyes" 4. Incendiary "Bite The Hook" 5. Big Boy "Spades" Honorable Mention: Gods Hate "Number One"
Newer to the hardcore world after living in metal forever -- the way they describe songs (these songs) always make me hyped as fuck to go and listen to
Mindset- Alive Inside I’m not even straight edge, but that’s how you open up an album and setup the listener for what’s about to come. ALIIIIIIIVE…. IN👊SIDE👊!
Thursday ritual lately has been Hardlore and slamming a horrific amount of taco bell. Loved this list as a newer hardcore fan, lots of new recs to check out :) Toss up between Verse - The New Fury and Terror - Better off Without You for my personal favorites. Honorary mention to Reign Supreme - Mother Superior. Turkey banana
New episode idea(s)! Debate what makes hardcore different from punk, among other similar topics. Create a crash course in hardcore. Make it a series of episodes according to year or era so it doesn't get too unwieldy for one episode but you can still discuss in depth. Either have Colin's mom as a guest or compile her questions to discuss on camera. Would be cool to hear her perspective as an "outsider" who is also kind of on the inside
1. One Life Crew - Murdario Stop 2. North Side Kings - In This Corner 3. Madball - Set it Off 4. Rotting Out - The Wrong Way 5. Terror - One With the Underdogs
Nobody ever mentions Snapcase but "Caboose" is a perfect intro for that record. Also word up to "Before/You Brought This On Yourself" by Backstabbers Inc even if it technically doesn't count.

Saw death threat at showcase in corona with at most 40 people. I could name all four people in the pit, everyone who was there, was there for death threat and it ruled! I’m glad death threat is getting there flowers too.
Turkey banana 💪🏼 In no order: Something I Learned Today - Hüsker Dü, Zen Arcade Soul Craft - Bad Brains, Quickness New Direction - Gorilla Biscuits, Start Today I Have… - Saccharine Trust, Paganicons Victim In Pain - Agnostic Front, Victim In Pain
At 818 day my friend had a beetle stuck in his hair for a while. Then I felt something flutter on my neck and just grabbed it and threw it on the floor and it was a beetle. Midnight Hour was full of them that day apparently.
Chicago Heist Bo mentions had a huge fight shut down the show at a knights of Columbus. Went to a kids basement in Indiana, and made me love the world of hardcore.
invasion / the wrong side / mental basement show will forever be the best punk rock / hardcore show i've seen and only second to Tom Waits in my all time live music experiences.
Turkey Banana Tits! I love that Poison Idea made the list. #2 at that!!!! More Jasta impersonations please. Cracked me up. Best guitar tones: Tommy Victor, Gary Holt, Ride the Lightning allbum, Kirk Windstein, Bolt Thrower Mercenary and Spike Cassidy (Sepultura used that tone on Arise and Beneath)
A few of my top openers: Inside Out - Burning Fight Terror - Better Off Without You Mindforce - Destroyer Gorilla Biscuits - New Direction Also...Turkey Banana
Dude, Bo gets to open for Hatebreed... That must be an insane feeling. I'll see you in the Nasty Natti very soon. We'll be in the alley, come say hello
ST - “You Can’t Bring Me Down.” If we got all the scientists in the world to do their science to come up with the greatest opening track, this is what they would come up with.
Turkey Banana Off the top of my head Avail, simple song SOIA, We want the truth Nails , Conform Cold as life, born to land hard Minor threat, minor threat
Okay so i know they arent TECHNICALLY hardcore but i wouldve never discovered them if not for the community. Out Of Time by Fuming Mouth is my favorite album opener of all time
