How can the economy be improved to prevent future protest. How will resources be used efficiently to develop the land and reduce poverty? That is more of what we want to hear.
These are different from what you want to hear and reality, This has always been the problem, certain regions don't like truth but they always like to hear what pleases them, You eat your cake and have it, the consequence is there, We can see the example in SE Nigeria, their economy never grows, no work on Mondays, no tangible infrastructure, lack security which they all support and IPOB and esn, There's no magic in the economy, you protest and you have to wait, Endsars the best forensic laboratory was burnt till date we haven't have another, Billions of brt busses were burnt still day there's no replacement, business that was lost during endsars has not regained, Damage of endsars far more and unrecovered than the profit, Say no to protest
Nonsense... Say no to corrupt leaders. Deal with the root problem and not the symptoms. That is the problem. Whoever is complaining about protest without calling for the removal of APC administration is being diceitful
LITERALLY WHAT HAVE BEEN DONE WITH THOSE MONEY GAINED ALL THESE WHILE.? ITS BETTER TO BE LOST ON THIS CAUSE THAN FOR ANY POLITICIAN USING THE TAXES GENERATED THROUGH THIS MONEY FOR THEIR PERSONAL GAINS.
Paul & Seun, it is better to let the chips fall where they may, lose everything - economy and government- and start afresh, all this patching and fake unbeneficial data ought to be scrapped.
Kudos to this man for his brilliant analysis, I have said it before, that removing subsidy without solving the power issue in Nigeria is gonna be a disaster 😢
I enjoyed this explanation. this is absolutely brilliant because there's no policy that's new to the world. Let's look around which country is successful with it or fails.
Oga, there is trade off in everything. The short-term loss to the economy is a good trade off for long-term good governance. With good governance, the economy will grow faster and the GDP will balloon greatly in multiples of the short-term loss.
Thanks so much guys. I am really happy about you guys professionalism (largely devoid of personal emotional drive). This is one of the few very complete analysis about the ongoing protest have seen so far. Very balance and professional analysis. Analysed the problems, what the govt has done & doing, the gap of that to the reality of the daily living of ordinary civilian and what are the suggested solution in relation to similar nations who have found themselves in similar situation... God bless you guys abundantly 👍 Unlike some very disgusting set of analyst. All they emphasize are only problems upon problems, shameful! 🇳🇬 God Bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
You are right, it is so disgusting that a man will get into power and remove subsidy without any thinking or planning, then float the naira against sound advice given to him, meanwhile he is increasing cost of governance by increasing the number of ministers by making his goons ministers, when the country is broke, the same man is spending over 20 billion naira in building the vice president’s quarters as if the vice president is homeless, should that kind of expenditure be priority now? He is giving 90 billion naira to few private individuals to go on their personal pilgrimage, when the country needs money? he did not put that into food production ooo. Is that not the most ridiculous and mindless thing to do? Beats my imagination how people saw 8 years of waste and disaster under Buhari and still voted for the same set of clueless people. This economist is giving free counsel on what to do, but the agbadorians in government will not listen. What a shame. Imagine asking segun odegbami to go and play for super eagles today simply because he was a star player 54 years ago , tinubu is obviously declining mentally, and intellectually, it is that same intellectual challenge that made Buhari fail woefully, and now tinubu is even worse with his balablu blublu Bulaba economic chaos.
The government had a long time to fix the food problem, but they turned deaf ears. Their impunity must be checkmated and that is what the youths are doing. APC knew they do not have managerial and leadership skills that people spend years learning in school yet they came up to grab the job of leadership. They have no clue of governing.
Stop making rhis nonsense dialogue statement. The Nigerian people have laid down their demands, let the government starts addressing them starting with Reduction in fuel price.
He's right. Billions in naira and in Dollar is always loss in any protest. Because it prevents all sectors of economy from functioning optimally. Stock exchange would drop drastically. There's always consequences hence, the government should always do the right thing always and stop the opulence life style, mismanagement, embezzlement and looting
Of what benefits or gains do Nigerians derived for the days when we have been passive and docile since I independent 1 Oct 1960, the only is poverty and hopelessness while the criminals in corridor power are the beneficial of the adnormaty., no price is too much for freedom even. The government has
The summary of this whole intelligent conversation (even as well as many many others) is it's just complicated, at this point, just plain complicated. The breaking point...
All these analysis is not for the people. It this the government that should have done their job of providing good government that would solved the problems presently facing the citizens.
The Problem we are having is not only hardship. we have security Problem, Bad government, Bad Judiciary, Lack of Jobs, No infrastructure (Bad Roads, Poor Power Supply, Lack of Good Hospitals and so on), Poor Education, nontransparent Government, Price of things Sky-rocketing everyday which i have never Seen in my Life since i was born.
Hi, My name is Stevephen Odin a Nigerian based in London. Thanks to channel media and the anachor Mr Seun. I will not thank this guest with due respect to him if Nigeria is making such money daily why is the country still in this mess? I think he is talking shit with due respect saying protest is good or not good is nonsense. Every part of this protest always shaped government to the right part. Only Nigeria something seen white can be changed black or dearned. Finally Mr Seun thanks
Of what use of Nigeria's GDP when there's no impact of past GDPs on the average Nigerian?? Enough is enough! Those politicians have to know that there is a limit to Nigerians endurance! They cant keep enjoying/looting our resources then expect us to keep suffering!
How did we come up the value? The estimate is questionable, not all economic activities where stalled. Biz went on in some states. Without the protest, how has been economic situation of everyday Nigerian?
The arrogance of those in power is the most obvious catalyst for the protest. Those people thump their noses at us all. Passing unpopular bills to make themselves feel happy. Providing leisure for themselves and asking the masses to endure. Renting the Renos and Bwalas, the Asari Dokubos, including Onanugas to harass fellow citizens calling them names and daring them to “do anyhow and see anyhow”. They never cared and that is the reason for the obvious frustration you see in the street. We are not slaves, being elected or appointed doesn’t place you higher than everyone else. Hope they learn and adjust. The people have the power to chase them all out of office in one day.
Talking about money lost as a result of protest what was there doing with the money has be gaining ever since ..let leave economy that is not shown on Nigeria.
Tinubu's bad governance, Hunger, Corruption, High fuel prices, fuel subsidy removal, High Inflation, Hardships, INEC Election inefficiency, no jobs, Insecurity, Poverty, IMF, High cost of governance.
Base on this analist analysis, And when we have more poverty in the economy, the rich wouldn't have peace of mind so let them know both side will suffer the casualties. The rich and the poor.
But if the so called Tinubu is not see all this on time to avoid it as a government, that means he has no interest in Nigeria, and that is what the protest is all about.
The present Government is a complete failure. How many people are working in today Nigeria? How do you appropriate the sum of #70,000.00 to take care of feeding, Accommodation, Education, Health care and other basic needs to make a meaningful earn a living?
This one na calculations on theory people are hungry They need food Sheun direct your questions to remedies not calculus Are you ok with what is going on Economist go class room talk to the government oh
The government has not responded in a positive way. Let the government reduce cost of governance. Why is the government buying jet at this time? Also adding new ministers and ministries. The government is using money for useless things. Why keeping offices for the 1st and 2nd ladies. They were not elected. No good roads anywhere in the country. High cost of school fees, medical etc should be addressed properly.
Why are Nigeria afraid to distingrate.?. When a nation faces economic jam, the best thing for that nation is to distingrate. Why are Nigeria afraid to distingrate?. The USSR, Great Britain, gave their subordinates independent, even Yugoslavia settled in such a manner. Why is Nigeria afraid to follow the shortest and easiest way to take people out of poverty. From the current prophet of Umuezumezu
You said govemrnt has responded right how ? Where is the money you said they shared to governor's to share to citizens ? How many students are going to benefit from student loan ? Which students the poor or the rich students,? Free duty to food should not not be only food at list reduce other commodities to 50%, open borders , reduce price of fuel to 209 to 250 naira. So that transport can reduce. Declare all public primary secondary school in Nigeria free. That will give private school tension to behave. Govemrnt use your brain use your Brian and stop solving top roof problem and forget foundation
All the government actions did not alleviate the economical problems being faced by the people. Majority of the solution leads to corruption. Federal Govt. giving money to state governments to share to people, how are the state governments going to share money to people in a country where there is no data base. Nothing works in the British contravention called Nigeria; hence there should be restructuring without any further delay.
Very easy to talk to citizens but very hard to tell truth to power. Pls stop blaming the protesters. Advice the tinibu lead government to do the needful
Some of the people protesting in the north do not understand what you are saying on your channel. [ illiteracy. No offence to my northern people ] That's why government should dialogue always with his citizens before it get to this type of situation . Power belongs to the people . Some politicians acts like they are running their own company giving orders to people . This is democracy not military rule . There was an elections that put them in their various offices , people voted them in . When they were campaigning they were not giving orders .
Is there anything these our so call economist and analyst don't criticize ...they will start speaking grammar on what the solutions are but as soon as Govt starts implementing some of these recommendations and its not yet yielding result, they backtrack or claim its not well implemented or it should be combined with other measure...they know our media are lazy who cannot reconcile their recommendations over time....😅😅😅😅
This analysis is trash and total waste of time. Everyone losses during protest. But every hardworking Nigerian has been losing for the past 30yrs because of bad governance. Everyone protesting is has business and works they do. But they are all paying the sacrifice.
What nonsense is this one saying on exchange rate and subsidy. Do you want the country to continue to subsidized fuel with 10b dollars and 12b dollars on fixed exchange rate. Mr whatsoever they call you, what is the solution. You are just babbling.
