if your going to invest in a waterbed, make sure you plan your bedroom right that it will be easy to for you to move freely in the room, once a waterbed is in place and filled (( time consuming)) you don't ((want/need)) to ever remodel your room. Dont place a waterbed under a window ever ,if the glass breaks you very likely will have a severely ruined waterbed, and a royal mess to clean up..
My next project....thanks for the tips.... I'm down here in the caribbean so for summer heat this bed is priceless.. saves energy by not turning on the A/C...
You do need a pedestal. You can just go buy the wood and make a new one. Don't forget the cross supports in the middle. That's what supports all the water.
