Would pay a lot of money to find an Excellent or better condition one of these today in 2020. And the Hardwire one, not the Digitech branded one. Such a great pedal!
This is the best pedal review on youtube i ever seen, details and less talk ! i love it.. you can compete with GMD, Andy from guitarproshop, snobels, etc..
"not the furry little animatronic freaks you like to skeet shoot." - priceless. Beyond that, excellent video. It was awesome just to hear the pedal. Same riffs and chords, played over with just the different mods done. and yeah, I'm a fan of Pherb lol, reminds me of Collective Soul meets the later Beach Boys
bought this pedal after seeing this vid. LOVE it. sounds very wet and lush. BTW, use this in the fx loop AFTER delay(and certainly after overdrive). You want the delay to sound like its in the "room". Not the room to be in the delay. :P
keep up what you're doing man, literally the best review of any pedal I've seen- clear and all that. Is the head on the amp the same insides as the blackstar studio 20 by the way?
I wish I could answer that but I never used the Trinity. I prefer the Strymon but for the money the Hardwire does a decent job. You can find these used for 99.00 now. Hopefully another subscriber can give you a little more info.
I can't comment on the Trinity but I really enjoy my Supernatural. The two control adjustments along with the mix provide a VERY wide palette of reverb. It's beautiful with a clean signal and, to me, it sounds great with distortion- I use an OCD. I have it 2nd last on my chain, after the Source Audio Nemesis going into a Boss DD7. Sounds like god on wheels, brother.
Well, I have been working exclusively in the studio for the past 10 years. The SN Reverb never made it on to my live pedalboard, I actually used a Strymon. This pedal was fun if you just want to zone out and make cool sounds but I was bored with it pretty quick. To answer your question... I don't think you need it. Everything I use now is plug-in based in Logic or an old Boss GT-Pro rack unit that I love and it's a dinosaur. If I get together to jam or write with co-conspiritors I only use a Barber Tone Press compressor (red) and a Carl Martin DC Drive (amazing unit).
Sorry it took so long, I just saw this. It's stock except I replaced the Chinese light bulbs with JJ tubes.... huge difference. It's in stereo because I ran 2 mics, one left and one right. One signal is large capsule mic and the other a SM58. I cheated !
Just as I was getting into this pedal I found out it's been discontinued, used on the market is more than I'm willing to pay for a reverb. Is there anything like it on the market that isn't $400.00 ?
Wow... the was years ago, I can't believe those are selling for up to $500 I think I paid like 159.00 and I thought that was nuts. I used a Strymon Brigadier for years after the Hardwire and was happy with it.
+Jorge Ureña (sicknnes) I was a faithfull Vox AC30 user for a long time, it was my sound when used a good overdrive like a Carl Martin DC Drive or from my Quattro. I tried a Blackstar when they first came out and I've owned 3 of them and now I can't use anything else. The ISF knob changes the amp from Marshall sounds to Vox and everything in between. I of course took out the Chinese light bulbs and replaced with JJ tubes and replaced the factory speakers with Celestial Greenbacks.
+atsrecords1960 I wanted to like th3 black stars but they sound too tinny and solid state to me. I think it's that isf because there new models don't have it and they sound great
TheTitanSlayers All reverb pedals will sound bad the way he has it set up. In this rig, he has the reverb coming before the distortion, which isn't what you want. To make it work. You need to either utilize a distortion pedal before the reverb, or you need place the reverb in the fx loop if using distortion from amp.
***** Absolutely true, what you say, mate... these would my choices, as well... only to add the Red Panda Context Reverb, which lately came as a surprise... better than the blue sky, more "earthly" than the big sky, it sounds gorgeous and it costs around $225... could be a smart alternative...
Glad u like it... the big sky is more versatile, true, and it solves a lot of problems when you want to support your band with 'spicy', more complex sounds... The 'more minimalist' red panda matches wonderfully with 1 or 2 delay pedals (of different philosophy) fed to it... I love it because it doesn't put any 'labels' on your sound - it just gives you plenty of the effect... Not too sure about your power concerns, though... normally you've got 240V AC in UK, so any EU regulated power supply that gives you 9V DC/100mA (center negative) will do for the red panda, as per supplier specs... Any thoughts about some Voodoo Lab power supply, yet? Happy New Year, mate..
***** Good point, provided that you're not in the fusion / ambient / swelly / new age stuff... where the Red Panda and the Blue Sky / Big Sky are irresistible. For the more classic player, I guess that the built-in reverb of a genuine 60s-70s Fender amp would do more than nicely... If you would insist on a pedal, check out the Van Amps SoleMate - it's divine - but expensive, and with the footprint of a yeti... On the other hand, the Quadraverb and a good old Lexicon will never let you down. A smart option could perhaps be the Earthquaker Devices Call Dispatcher... It combines reverb and delay in a single, small unit...
