This is basically him straightforwardly encouraging those who are sh!t right now to keep going and working on themselves cuz they will definitely get where they want to.
Shout out to you Sheeran, many celebrities can't do it, respect uncle, thank you for the encouragement, you deserve the best coz you didn't alot to change your voice
That’s actually a really good question. Personally, I would imagine that anyone who worked their ass off to achieve something would/should be offended at the thought that you were somehow “born” with it. There is nothing to be proud of when you are born with something. That’s just luck/genes/the universe. Frankly, anyone who does pride themselves on such things is rather the fool in need of pity, not admiration.
@@theouthousepoet That's the reason why I always get mad when people say "Wow, you are so talented at drawing. I wish I could draw like you but I am not talented." That's the point where I snap. I once had a conversation with someone that said exactly that and I replied on how he is mistaken and all he needs is to practise but he was like "nope, you need talent for that" as if he knew all about it, but he knows nothing about the struggle I went through to get to the point where I am now.
obviously he wasn’t born with the ability to play amazingly out the womb, but he was definitely born with certain skills and viewpoints which allowed him to grasp music to another understanding and level , if you and ed sheeran at age 10 both started singing and writing music by the age of 20 ed would be immensely more talented and skilled
Nope anyone if they put enough time into learning something can become a master at it takes approximately 10,00 hours to master something, which over a 10 year period works out to be as long as practise and are comited to learning something for 18miniutes a day then in 10 years time you will be a master at that, so unfortunately your "if you and ed sheeran at age 10 both started singing and writing music by the age of 20 ed would be immensely more talented and skilled" doesnt hold up cause its not about the name or age of the person that matters, its all about the commitment as anyone as long as they are passionate and committed enough to something can becomes a master/ the best in their field of job@@johnnysinsmother3810
you should watch how Michael Jackson record "We are the world - we are the people" He sit in studio more than 10h to get and record just one phrase. Talent doesn't exsist.
To become the best you need to learn a million times before becoming the person who you are right now, amazing sir ED Sheeran, everybody is gonna walk through that path to become better
He's wrong tho, between the best musicians are people with both talent and hard work, with only hard work or only talent you will be only another random musician without fame or money
@@fabulouslakshay youre deluded, go walk down any city centre in the world and look at the talent lining the streets busking, they never made it, most of them born with masses of talent
People would rather categorize skills as talent (implying that it is innate) so as to comfort themselves from the fact that such a skill (like singing) is a result of deliberate practice, persistent effort, and an unrelenting commitment to the craft. By calling hardworking blokes like Ed as talented (that he was born with the ability to sing beautifully), they can easily rationalize that they don't possess the same innate gift that he has therefore, it would be impossible to achieve the same level of singing proficiency. If only people would realize that any skill can be learned and refined through hard work, literally anyone can become 'talented.'
@@knowthyself8563 you can't learn to sing because you are born with the voice. You can only fine tune it to become better. Same as people who run faster, high IQ, better looks. Same as a teenage chess masters. It's a lottery. When people say one is talented, they mean they are gifted and no way trying to undermine their hardwork of years. If you sound like a turtle naturally, you'll sound like refined turtle after practice, not Ed Sheeran. Not that he's the epitome of good singing.
@DaveMcIroy It's even more suspicious you trust things a celebrity says without actual evidence such as this clip here. It's safe to assume your politicians and celebrities are always trying to deceive you in some manner. The most common one is for you to sacrifice your liberties in the name of safety.
That’s extremely humbling of him to do. To recognize he was exactly like everyone else at one point and he wasn’t born a great signer but he had to work at it
Right!!! Always hear that, heard that... Lol I drew my butt off, started painting my butt off... The only natural thing about I have is an addiction for it. It makes me happy.
Talent in my case is enjoying the thing and doing the hardwork to get there, also talent is how you’re born, your body composition and your balance etc for physical sports like rugby that I play.
Talent is a stupid word.. people only use that word to reassure themselves when they see someone successful "oh he is a genius, oh he is talented that's why he is successful and I am not"
@@elizabethalexandraszaboola5747 Not slow .. I just speak proper english and get confused when people who dont, try to and fail miserably, hence the question...
I'm not a fan of his music but he's got my respect for showing the world hey I didn't always have this talent I worked my ass off to sound this way and to that I say bravo sir
Me not so much too I’m not so much into his romantic guitar Ballard stuff but I really like it when he does those collaborations with other other artists and ventures out more into a other style like Pop or even Hip Hop or Rock, Metal. I really like this song he did with Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars that’s a downright Rock song or the Metal Remix of Bad Habits he did with bring me the horizon. And own it with stormzy was also great. I also have the he really likes those projects where he can venture out into other music than his typical stuff. I would wish he would do more of this. I really like his voice but I’m no so much into the music he mostly does. Those guitar ballards are mostly boring to me and they quite similar but I think he’s self aware and knows that this is what he’s known for and a high percentage of his fans like this kind of music and it’s successful
@@nathanjordon6950 HIS tho Dude is totally crazy Ed music is pretty great. He ghost writes for other people to Little Things - One Direction Lay It All On Me - Rudimental. When Christmas Comes Around - Matt Terry. Rixton - Hotel Ceiling. Say You Love Me - Jessie Ware. Love Yourself - Justin Bieber. Cold Water - Major Lazer.
I love how open he is with this, a lot of other people try and hide their "shit phase" because they think it's shameful for some reason. It's important for others to know that practice is what makes the talent so they don't get discouraged
Well, it's inspiring to show when you've reached a decent level, but it does feel shameful when you're still shit 😅 (I'm not disagreeing with your comment btw, hope it doesn't come across the wrong way)
@@faridafitrihani9963 that is true, but for people who think that they should stop just because they "aren't good" even if they enjoy it I feel like this video would help them. People stop doing stuff the love just because they think they're not good enough, it's really sad. I myself have stopped doing hobbies because of that and I'm trying to pick them up again because they were fun!
@@novam5696 Croatian here…OP’s got a point. No real reason for two men to hold hands sweetie. Discreet buggary is one thing, shoving it in peoples faces just because they can is why most would prefer not to be around those people. It’s got nothing to do with homophobia, and everything to do with strangers trying to control how you live you’re lives. It’s not my fault that some of you are completely fine with it, simple people often find comfort in being controlled…much like sheep.
yeah not enough people are talking about that part 😂😂😂😂 so wholesome. just two grown ass men comforting each other. and the way the host was like "say no more i will hold you" was adorable
I see it as a selflove not humbleness (100% not saying he is not humble) Since showing that he was like that and now he was like "THIS" is kinda a somewhat "flex"
This man... this is why I really love Ed Sheeran, he knows nothing comes in life if you don't put in the work, he is real and you feel it in his music.
I’ve seen basically every artist I admire at this point on social media share art they made when they first started so it’s definitely very common to show where you started and came from especially once you’re successful, you have utterly nothing to lose by showing it
@@itsmike6757 You are born with talents, but you learn and perfect skills yourself. No one is born with skills, you have to earn them. Yes, talent helps tremendously in the process of acquiring skills, but talent and skills aren’t the same
This is actually inspiring and motivating, also the fact that he kept the recording shows that even with success he still reminds himself of where he started.
Telling a musician that they're 'naturally talented' feels diminishing. I can confidently tell you NO performing musician ever was incredible when playing their instrument for the first time. Being a musician is incredible hard work, and the more 'talented' a musician seems, actually it's probably that that arist puts in incredible amounts of time into practising.
I don't know any artist saying they were good since birth. What the fuck are you talking about? Maybe some say they knew they had a gift that they could work with, but nobody says they were born great enough to succeed at what they do.
I dont think any artist in any medium would ever say that as they all worked their ass off for years on end to get where they are. Its like saying "wow youre so lucky everything you got was just given to you" its an insult in a compliment coating made by ignorant people
I had other views on him earlier. It changed after seeing his views on Instagram and this. He is very sincere, genuine hard working person with less of an ego than many other singers. Plus he is great at what he do.
It's actually offensive to tell an artist they have natural talent, it implies they haven't worked hard to get to where they are today. Like it was an easier journey for them.
@@WenQixz i don't think you realize it's insulting to tell someone that they haven't worked for what they achieved Edit: maybe "rude" is a better word than "insulting". In any case, it's not something nice to hear
@@caoilte8097 no, but it will come off that way if you know their back ground. Everyone has worked hard for their present in their own way. Sure some may just let it slide as obviously it isn't a crime or intentional but sometimes it comes off rudely as if one has not worked for their achievement but was borned with it. It's like with these rich kids who are spoiled thinking they are rich when it's their parents working hard to achieve the rich life.
My uncles used to know him, not as friends but went to his club all the time and saw him and talked to him a couple of times, they always say "he was so bad when he was younger" I see what they mean 💀💀
The fact that he’s not embarrassed to embarrass himself to show that he worked really hard to make it happen! And really search for it on his phone! My gosh! He’s not afraid to tell the truth! Wow! I’m not a fan, but this makes me soo respect him!
People always say I am a party pooper when they say: "They are so talented" and I say: "No, they are skilled. You are shitting on their hard work by saying it came all to them by birth"
Creativity is a talent. And so is luck. You can't train that. And even if they want to deny it, successful people have talent, or they wouldn't have made it. Hard work can't carry a person all the way.
@@eileith98 yoooo luck is a talent. Some guy somewhere winning every scratch lottos on every corner earning millions cause they're born with the talent of being lucky.
