I feel slightly guilty in looking at the goats' new pen with all those lovely herbs and plants, and thinking; they will soon convert that to meat and will taste glorious as a result! I want to be there when you roast a haunch, or make a West Indian goat curry with peas and rice! I must admit that I would have thought that drilling in to granite was for very beefy commerial grade machinery and far beyond the savings of ordinary people - this has been quite an eye opener! You don't need to pay someone £10,000+ - you just need a Head Gardiner's Under Assistant and a lot of grunt! [Power to the gardeners, Andrea! Keep him in his place]

Hi Nick, seeing your two pet dogs having checkup at vet, got me thinking about Max...he must be lonely looking at his pals. Has he a ball to play with.Most animals love that. Maybe get a friend for him? Think about moving his far off kennel closer to home. I know he's a watch dog, but he can still see down the drive and their hearing id phenominal! Andrew , of real algarve living, went to shelter, and now his dog has a playmate and its such fun to watch them. Fleas and ticks are a curse and Max has such thick fur. So think about featuring him sometime . Everyone loves dogs!,🐕🐕

Hi Nick and Andrea. I am very happy that the dog was treated and the seeds were removed from his ears. I lost a dog from these seeds which caused her blood infection and high fever.

We will have to take you out for a meal as we think we know a place that will fit in for you both with your new dietary regime. Fabulous ideas for the greenhouse - it will look like Kew Gardens in there this summer. You really are at the heart of our lovely community and we all very much appreciate it - a shame we didn't get to see your shovelling and finishing as it was a joy to behold!

I would take the lid off that box and keep it upright and put anot her self or two in it paint it and nail or screw it to a wall in the workshop or even the house somewhere....

Do the goats eat the brambles? It's a lot of work to put a fence there in the ground ( and granit). It is nice to help some friends and I hope someday they help you Nick.

You were looking a bit tired and exasperated whilst explaining the drill bit and just before u started drilling. In your shoes i would have been. Perhaps upset and irritated. Hated when i lent things, from tools or books or cds and they were returned damaged! I stopped lending as a result. But glad to see u persevered and seemed to maintain ur calm. Thanks for the video. You are never short of work in a farm. And u r very generous with your time, knowledge n work n equipment to ur friends! That is a very nice trait!

And always nice when you lend your tools to someone else and get them back broken. I know the feeling Stapler full empty back 😭 also the strimmer delivered back without wire. It must be nice to have a dream and have someone fulfill it for you. Your cleanup and planting make it beautiful, Andrea. I'm really eager to see the hothouse produce this year. !!

I didnt want to pay £1 for each plastic tray for a plant pot when I planted some seeds last spring so I used some plastic trays that I'd got from the supermarket when I bought meat. The biggest are for chicken thighs and pork steaks in most supermarkets. Firstly, they're free. Secondly, they aren't as strong as the purpose designed but they won't get a lot of wear and you can throw them out if they split. Thirdly, you can use bread bag ties after you've burnt a hole in the outer edge to create a hinge and make a seed tray from them (make holes for drainage if you need) - one as a base. one as a lid. Not as big as the bought ones but for nothing.... If you look at the type of plastic trays you get better quality veggie burgers in, they're usually ok for plants - some two packs of veggie burgers have ideal plastic trays for two plants. If you lived around the corner I'd let you have some....but they're not worth posting.

To lend something to a friend and get it returned back damaged is bad. However, to not even let you know about the damage is just rude. You are both such, kind, patient, and generous people, so to be shown that level of disregard has me mad on your behalf. I hope you are at least going to get them to pay for replacement. I now would also lend them diddly squat. Andrea, i think i have greenhouse envy. Like really bad greenhouse envy🤣. You are so lucky to have a premium handyman for your husband. So.please, that seed was removed. Must have been horrible for the little 1. Are vets over in Portugal cheaper than UK. Great video again, although i missed Andre coming up something yumcious. Still think you should do "Andreas off grid kitchen" receipe book. I know i would buy it.have a great week x Ps love your new logo design x

Hi Guys, regarding the shelving in the greenhouse, I would of made a frame outta 3'x2' fixed a shelf underneath and silled it with epoxy resin. Therefore creating a waterproof tray in the greenhouse. Also the old truck, I may have removed all the rotten wood and used coloured epoxy resin, relined the inside with 3mm ply, done a epoxy resin lid and made it into a blanket box or tv stand! Just a thought! 😉😉😉

Antifreeze isn't just for the coolant not to freeze - it also has anti-corrosive properties, so even if you don't get frost it is still a good idea...

Good job on the greenhouse shelves I added a layer of carpet underlay on top of the plastic which soaks up the excess water and will prevent the trays from drying out

I'm an electrician, eletricista, and I have some diamond core bits like yours mainly for vents to outside. That component is £7.00 at toolstation and the adapter pack 200mm + arbor + cotter pin is £15.00, let me know if you want them set to you. I understand some tools and parts are like rocking horse poo out there .. I have a feeling that parcels to portugal take ages to arrive though.

Should be able to weld a new shaft on the core bit, I would think but maybe not as easy as that.

Wonderful job on the hot house/nursery (I can't think). I bet you didn't like putting in them post. We use 4 x 4 x8 or (10) for fence post. Not for animal farms, just in general. The only place I have seen concrete ones is in Portugal mainland and Azores. Really enjoyed this one. You fantastic work!

Seeing how much effort it took to drill the post holes in the granite is why the built walls rather than fences. Incidentally will there be a drain hole in the waterproof shelf as it will eventually be full.
